Last time I joined the wrong queue and won anyway but this time I joined swiss. Let's see how the draft went:

  Pack 1 pick 1:

I can't pass a Jace, the Mind Sculptor and the only card that could compete with it is Gilded Lotus.

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 2:

Both blue cards are not great and nothing else is that powerful to take over an on color fetchland.

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 3:

Here I could take the wrath or stick to blue and take Teferi. I decided to take Teferi and stick to blue for now.

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 4:

A very weak pack. Ooze is not bad but I'd rather take the UG land to maybe go those colors.

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 5:

Finks is a better card than Sakura but in a UG deck I think I need Sakura more. The only upside of Finks would be that it would also go in a UW deck. Mimic Vat is not very good in blue and Legionnaire although colorless it's also not that great.

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 6:

In cube it's often correct to take fixing over anything that isn't very good but I had 2 UG lands already and I needed to have at least one strong color so I took Oracle.

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 7:

If I do end up UG this doesn't seem the kind of deck that will be able to play Terrastodon on turn 5 or 6 or a Genesis Wave for 7+ so I opted for the painland.

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 8:

I was really tempted to take Martial Coup but I resisted and stayed on track taking Capsize.

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 9:

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 10:

  My Pick:

  Pack 1 pick 11:

These last 3 picks I had options for both white and green so I think I would have been fine if I had taken Supreme Verdict.

  Pack 2 pick 1:

A lot of possible picks but nothing absurd. I took image because I like having at least 1 clone and for 2 mana it's very good. My second choice would be Sower.

  My Pick:

  Pack 2 pick 2:

It's pretty bad passing an Elspeth for an Awakening Zone but at this point I don't think I can abandon green or splash her.

  My Pick:

  Pack 2 pick 3:

I'm not a huge fan of both blue cards, although I sometimes play them but I'm pretty sure one of them will come back and Powerstone could be vital if my deck ends up with some 6+ drops.

  My Pick:

  Pack 2 pick 4:

Aetherling is fine but not insane and Courser is what this deck wants.

  My Pick:

  Pack 2 pick 5:

Most my UG decks would easily take Tooth and Nail here but this is not one of those deck and Venser is always good.

  My Pick:

  Pack 2 pick 6:

Again, Woodfall Primus is good but I don't think I want an 8drop. I've been unimpressed by Agent so I took Thassa without knowing if I'd play her or not.

  My Pick:

  Pack 2 pick 7:

  My Pick:

  Pack 2 pick 8:

I don't mind Regrowth but it's not that needed while the blue creatures help against aggro. I opted for Man o War because I think it's always gonna be decent while Old Man can either be insane or do nothing. But maybe that's one more reason to take Old Man because I can have it in the sideboard. At the time I thought the jellyfish was better for me.

  My Pick:

  Pack 2 pick 9:

I finally pick a counterspell and I think my deck needs a few more.

  Pack 3 pick 1:

Not a Gaea's Cradle deck. I'd love to have both Noble and Wall but Sphinx is one of the best finishers in cube.

  My Pick:

  Pack 3 pick 2:

Cloudskate is fine but Metamorph is another very good clone.

  My Pick:

  Pack 3 pick 3:

Another planeswalker and this one pairs well with Jace.

  My Pick:

  Pack 3 pick 4:

Even though I don't have 7+ drops it's always nice to have a few mana elves.

  My Pick:

  Pack 3 pick 5:

Another difficult pick. I don't need a third clone and Viper can be good but Polukranos is a huge undercosted creature that can wipe some of their creatures. In a deck without removal that's pretty good.

  My Pick:

  Pack 3 pick 6:

I'd be happy with Baloth but the Wall is both fixing and acceleration.

  My Pick:

  Pack 3 pick 7:

  My Pick:

  Pack 3 pick 8:

  My Pick:

  Pack 3 pick 9:

I think this is the first time I see Noble wheeling and Wall of Roots also came back. I'd be very happy with any but Noble is a bit better because it also produces blue mana.

Here's what I submitted:

On to the games!

M1G1:

I faced a turn2 Sundering Titan and things looked pretty bad. I managed to draw some lands and later one of my 2 clones. He also should have attacked Garruk instead of me and he shouldn't have left Thragtusk back since trading it with my Polukranos was very good for him. He topdecked Elspeth but since I had a flier I managed to win with Garruk's ultimate.

M1G2:

He put me on the play and once again he had turn2 Titan. I managed to draw one land to play Sakura and 1 turn later clone his Titan. My Trygon Predator killed his Titan setting him back again and he conceded.

M2G1:

The game was going well but Living Death destroyed me. I managed to survive some turns but my outs were almost none and eventually he sealed the game by playing Living Death again.

M2G2:

Jace put me way ahead this game and Courser also helped making Jace even more broken. I always played around Living Death and eventually he conceded.

M2G3:

I was happy with how the game was going but in 2 turns everything changed. He killed my Garruk and got a Jitte from Bloodbraid Elf. He destroyed my chances of racing with Slaughter Pact. I couldn't have blocked his Woodfall with Metamorph on the first turn because since it's his turn, my guy would come back before his and I wouldn't be able to copy Woodfall to kill Jitte. If I copied Jitte he would just kill it with Woodfall. Since racing didn't work I had to hope Sphinx would draw me some good stuff and that I could somehow deal with his stuff. Fortunately, he played Wickerbough Elder which allowed me to block Woodfall and with Metamorph and still be able to kill Jitte no matter what. He killed my Sphinx but it was too late and I had Dismiss for his Living Death in the end.

M3G1:

He was screw and I was able to attack his lands twice so this game had no history.

M3G2:

It was a strange game. My cards didn't match up very well against his and when I thought I had taken control of the game he burned me out.

M3G3:

The Mana Tithe was a blowout but getting to play Sphinx twice put me way ahead and after dealing with Mother I had it in the bag. The replay is bugged in the end but when he taps his mana at the end of the turn, he plays a Bogarden Hellkite which I Venser. On his turn he plays Young Pyromancer and Chain Lightning but that's not enough to kill be or stop me from killing him back.

Another 3-0 and I'm already at a point where even if several drafts in a row go wrong, I still have enough Phantom Points to keep playing without spending Tix. I hope you enjoyed this once again and see you next time.
