Hello everyone. So this week it's back to the Classic grind with 4c Fish. The deck was made and made popular by Timmins, a Classic guru who is currently sitting in second place of the Classic player of the year race. I am coming back for my spot though! I have had this deck sitting here waiting to be played for quite a long time, but being the spaz I am, I always found something new or cool to play on camera before this. In the current meta game it might be actually better to splash Red instead of Black, but I just couldn't say no to the power of Dark Confidant or Black sideboard cards for beating up on graveyard decks. I won't spoil how the event shook out but you guys will find out shortly.   Enjoy the rounds.

ROUND 1

ROUND 2

ROUND 3

ROUND 4

Thats it for this week, I hope you guys enjoyed the videos, Next week I am not entirely sure what will happen yet, if the Saturday event fires, I will surely record it. Any body want to see a particular deck in action? Sound off in the comments and I will go with popular choice, unless card availability prohibits building. Other wise I will probably play some Legacy, or bum a complete Modern deck and give that a whirl.

See ya in seven

Just a reminder, Classic Daily Events are scheduled every Saturday at 12:30 PM EST and Sunday at 6:30 PM EST. See ya in the events.

GGs sir.

Nice 4-0. Good matchups and even better play than normal (yes this is partially a backhanded compliment!). Your patience was particularly impressive. You made the absolute most out of every card. Stifle, Bob, Trigon Predator were absolutely bonkers on the day.

Thanks for the content Mr. Penguin. That deck from R4 looked very interesting as well.

Back handed or not, I will accept it. I made a couple of misplays in the vids as well, but overall i had a good day and played pretty well.

Rounds 2 and 3 don't have a pointer. And some of your other videos haven't either. No big deal, I just think it's weird.

There's a setting in Camtasia (the program used) to remove the cursor.

Congratulations on the 4-0! Nice to see things turning around for you in Classic, but unfortunately it's with a deck you despise: Fish! LOL Dripping with irony!

Of course, you beat two Lotus Farmers on your way to the 4-0, so obligatory BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! ;op~

well, i wouldnt say i dispise by whiffy at Tue, 09/20/2011 - 13:03

well, i wouldnt say i dispise it, its just not my cup of tea cause there is no broken plays, however, it doset stop broken plays which i also enjoy. as for your clan mates, well. soryy. i had to beat one of my own as well as steal the win from a really cool deck in rd4.

Very nice job. I enjoyed by guidaux at Tue, 09/20/2011 - 20:02

Very nice job. I enjoyed watching that deck. One deck I would like to see your take on is a Death's Shadow deck or something with Immolating Souleater. I was thinking along the lines of a lifelink deck with the souleater, maybe a fling ability. May need to be R/U/W.

FWIW, I ported this deck into modern. Same creature with some swords instead of the tarmogoyfs (out of my price range). Shock lands instead of duals. Remand, mana leak, remove soul as the counter suite. Path to exile as the spot removal. Graduated from the casual room to the tourney practice room and so far undefeated there, but hasn't face too much of note.

interesting, so those were the only changes you made? I feel like trygon and birds are not as good in modern as they are in classic, since there is no shop deck in modern. How was dark confidant, shock lands, and your life total?

trygon could probably be by rgp2373 at Mon, 09/26/2011 - 16:27

trygon could probably be replaced, but with the tempered steel and affinity decks (and to a lesser extent pyromancer's ascension) i figured it would be a good start. The shock lands aren't too bad and I have some games that it makes me say live by Bob, die by Bob.

Right now I'm about 75% winning, but it seems to roll over against elves.
