Hosts Sebastian Park and Erik Friborg are joined today by Guest Host Michael Janssen.
MTGO News
People are complaining about all sorts of things, but who cares... We have new promos! With cards like (Wholly Thoctar), Fireball, and Circle of Protection: Red, promos are about to take off! Also, we discuss 2-man queues and MTGO's newest sanctioned format, Pauper, on the MODO economy.
MTGO Events
Sebastian, Erik, and Michael discuss the Classic Player of the Year race and the upcoming Ravnica and Pauper weekend event. You can see the whole list of upcoming daily events here and you can find information about future weekend events here.
MTGO Prices
Pauper's effects are felt everywhere! In the prices, the greatest increases can be felt in commons! Referencing price charts seen on Hamtastic's last article. Extended, Standard, and Alara Block prices continue to thrive despite the upcoming release of Conflux.
Special Interview: Jamuraa
We take hard-hitting questions and pose them to the creator of the new website and new host of PDCMagic, Michael Janssen. He answers all of our questions and reveals what a future version of PureMTGO.com may look like!
PureMTGO News
Taking the suggestions of forum posters, the RSS feed now shows the small blurb instead of the entire article! The website works, and that's always a good thing.

please call this podcast, crappy McCrap. Take some freaking notes, write a script man, I cringed listening to the beginning of the podcast. Have some topics that isn't old news, that people might actually care about. I listened to the first 2 mins and had to shut it off. I'm sorry, I want my 2 mins back. Get more organized, that was a shame.
The beginning was pretty shaky I admit. I'm sorry you couldn't get past the first 2 minutes. The script will be refined further so that there's a smoother beginning next time.
Also, the topics are updated on a weekly basis. Some of the topics that were bigger on the agenda were a bit dated (namely the 2 man queues), but there was a lot of information that was worth mentioning. However, should you have any suggestions as to what we should talk about, feel free to recommend That said, I'm not 100% sure if your comment on the relevance of the news items are even valid as you listened only to the first 2 minutes. :P
Although I personally stand by this edition, I assure you it'll get better.
I think the podcast was a quite nice update of what is happening in MTGO and PureMTGO.
The only thing I don't like about it is how one voice is softer than the rest so I can't hear well what he's saying. Other than that, I enjoyed it.
Keep up the good work! =)
name suggestion: Freed from the Real (from the top banner)
whatever the naming, i think having "podcast" in the name is not really popular now.
I thought the show was great, especially for a first try. It was a little shaky at the start, but definitely got better as it went on. In the future I would focus on smoothing everything out and you'll have a great show on your hands. Is it going to come out weekly?
First of all, yes, this show will be coming out weekly.
As for smoothing things out, I have to agree. It was shaky at the beginning, and even in between, there were issues from time to time. These will be addressed. Thanks for the comments.
A Second Look.

I actually felt bad about leaving it off the way I did. So, I went back and listened to it all. Okay, first off, like I said, I would recommend a script of some sort or at least an outline in the hands of everyone you plan to have on your show. Have your information in front of you. Don't be stumbling around trying to find the name of "that card" or "that event". Discuss not only what is going on, but give suggestions to it's listeners about an angle to take in upcoming weeks. Give them tools or suggestions to help them/us benefit from your information. Maybe deck tech discussions, the current meta game, hands on game walk-through. Be different, mix it up, do something different then other columnist post. You guys need to have first hand experience in what's going on, not just analyzing it from afar. Have some sort of organization as to who comes in and says what, you were kind of all over the place, not knowing when someone else would say something, if anything at all. I think a good name for this podcast, if it could live up to it, would be "The Word". Simple and direct. Make this the place that all magic players what to come check out. Keep in mind your competition; Top 8 Magic Podcast, Evan Erwin. Make sure you diversify yourselves enough to stand out.
I hope this was more informative for you then my last post. =)
We did in fact have a script, but the script wasn't as detailed as it should have been. We'll definitely have a more detailed script for next week.
In terms of the more detailed information, again I'll take the personal responsibility for that. As the token tournament player, I'll be sure to add more next time.
As a semi-first attempt, I'm actually surprised at having as much coherency as we managed to achieve.
With that said, there's a lot to be improved upon. Any and all help is appreciated. Some very good constructive criticism from Bosh, and I think that will help us going forward. Thanks!
Great idea guys! It's great to hear what's going on and getting future insight on what's coming up is sweet. I have to agree with Tarmotog..."Freed From The Real" is a good name! Has anyone thought of WOTC...Wizards Of The Chat...lol...sorry, i know that was corny. Keep it up guys.
Yey Pauper, swiss and 4/8 player queues...nay 2 player queues!

Not bad, better scripting and more practice will smooth you guys out. From the stammering in the beginning to the breath noises off and on are all things that can and I'm sure will be corrected soon. I had taken a break for about 3 months, did some real Magic for a while, but I like the idea of listening while I play and getting info on the current state. I'm not sure you will be able to keep up material for a weekly show,in the beginning, once you have established I think you may get some exclusive from WOTC, but even then bi or tri weekly should be pretty do-able. Keep it up, regardless of the naysayers, give it time.
I disagree with some of the stuff ppl are posting. I can't imagine it is easy to avoid dead air in the podcast and I thought the intro and outline were awesome.
One thing I'd like to see along with the outline is posted time stamps, so that I can zip through to the points that I am interested in. Could this be done next time?
Also, I appreciate your guys' recognition of my contributions here and at pdcmagic - glad people are finding my information useful. :-)
One final note, when running these podcasts as the 'interviewer' or 'host', I think it would flow better to just lay things out, rather than asking for permission from your participants first. Instead of "can you guys answer some questions from the community?", work that out beforehand, then just go right into the content rather than establishing whether you're going to ask them during the 'cast. :-)
It wasn't as bad as everyone has said! I enjoyed it, I would like if you spent 2-4 minutes on a newbie section detailing cards worth getting @ cheap prices, where to learn, people to learn from, ect!

As for the sound quality, that's definitely my mistake. I'll be sure to adjust it for the next podcast.
As for the name suggestion, I think that's a pretty cool name. Definitely added to the list.

Hey guys,
I cannot seem to find an RSS link to get this podcast automatically in my itunes... am I just missing something simple or is it not created yet?
It'll be up for the next podcast. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Name - Purecast?
What about "Oh No! MODO!!"? Just trying to find something that rhymes and I think its funny to say....
It can also be "Oh no, MODO".
Or what about, "Weekly Downtime"... you know.. after the weekly downtimes that all MTGO players dread.
Great stuff, look forward to listening to the upcoming episodes!
I was thinking "PureMTGO Twincast" because you can stream it or download it. Just a thought. I like the idead of Podcast.

Definitely could use some work (audio seems lacking) but it was a pretty cool attempt
modo mumblings
I'm excited about listening once it's polished a bit. Please stop breathing into the mic tho, it's gross.
Cool podcast. Pretty long, but some good info.
