Hello and welcome back to Rick's Picks!

This is a very exciting time for me, since two of my favorite things are coming together: Magic and Greek mythology. And I thought I was excited a year ago, when Return to Ravnica debuted...

Greek mythology has been a favorite subject of mine since I was a little kid. I first learned about it from my mom, who used to have a lot of books on the subject. Then I got further exposed to it in my first few history classes. I thought it was neat, but didn't really give it much thought. Then something happened: Saint Seiya.

Those of you who live in the United States may never have even heard of this manga/anime series, but back in the 90's, it was HUGE in Latin America, Japan, and European countries such as Spain, Italy, and Portugal. Basically, it's an epic story about modern-day warriors (or "saints") who have to protect / fight against reincarnations of Greek gods. It was everything boys ever talked about back then, and it made me interested in Greek mythology (and Greece in general) in a big way. So much so that, years later, I would join a MTGSalvation clan named Greek Alliance, and eventually design my own Greek-inspired homemade Magic block.

This is all to say: yep, huge Greek mythology buff here. Which means there's quite a big chance this will end up being my favorite Magic block of all time. We shall see.

Let's dive headfirst into the new draft season already, shall we?

DRAFTING / DECKBUILDING

ROUND 1

ROUND 2

ROUND 3

There we go. The format looks REALLY promising for me, thanks both to flavor and gameplay. I can't wait to get on the next queue and keep discovering the awesomeness that the MTG version of Greek mythology seems to be. In fact, that's what I'm gonna do now. I hope you enjoyed this, and see you soon!
