Izzet wrong of me that when I first laid mine eyes on its shiny metal form, I wanted it so badly? I wanted to have its tokens, I wanted to make them into fine upstanding BLIGHTSTEEL COLOSSUS COPIES! HAHAHAHA I WANT TO WATCH THE WORLD BURN!

A NOTE ABOUT THIS DECK

This deck is all about creating tokens, making them copy something big and gross and then turning those tokens sideways to wreck face. If you don't like making tokens or turning things sideways, this deck is not for you.

HOW IT KILLS

Brudiclad is 4 Red Blue for a 4/4 artificer that reads your tokens have haste. At the beginning of combat on your turn, create a 2/1 Blue Myr Artifact creature token. Then you may choose a token you control. If you do, each other token you control becomes a copy of that token.

That's not until the end of turn. Usually when we see these kinds of replication effects, they don't get to hang around and usually end or exile at the end of the turn. So this means we can get up to all sorts of shenanigans with big dumb creatures, to mass ramp through token replication of Treasure tokens.

So lets look at some of the big dumb things we can do to maximise token fun.

I'M JUST A COPY OF A COPY OF A COPY OF A COPY

What's EDH without a bunch of stupid cloned creatures, right? Even better when they're tokens of creatures. Or I guess, replicants?

First up we have token copy generators like Mimic Vat, Mechanized Production, Zndrsplt's Judgment, and Helm of the Host. These clone token makers all copy your best creature and then Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer can step in and make all your other tokens copy it.

Clone Legion and Rite of Replication are amazing in this deck, they can single handedly ruin the entire game for all other players by making you your very own army of stupid big dorks like Blightsteel Colossus and Scuttling Doom Engine.

Speaking of Token generation in Izzet, we have a surprising array of cards that can generate Thopters, Constructs and Servos. Thopter Spy Network, Efficient Construction, Tezzeret, Artifice Master and Sai, Master Thopterist all help us to generate Thopter tokens. We also have Hangarback Walker, Pia and Kiran Nalaar and Pia Nalaar to generate Thopter tokens too. That's a lot of smol bois.

Curse of Opulence gives us Gold tokens when anyone attacks the enchanted player, Spell Swindle allows us to generate a slew of Treasure tokens if timed right that can then be augmented by Brudiclad into fearsome big bois. Brass's Bounty also allows us to spew a slew of awesome Treasure tokens as well, based on the amount of lands you have in play. Faerie Artisans can be a great assistant here for when our opponents play some big scary creature, but the drawback is that its not a “may”, its a “must”, so another opponent might just play a 1/1 Goblin. But you still have a token, so go you!

ALL THE YOUNG DUDES

Blightsteel Colossus
Now we have our cloning effects down, what about some super swol bois to run the table?

First out of the gate is a legion of Blightsteel Colossus killing everyone at the table via a one turn attack of infect damage. Surprisingly easy to set up and extremely nasty if you pull it off.

Likewise with Desolation Twin, except replace “Infect” with “I'm just going to smash your face now, k?”. This 10/10 Eldrazi will come in with it's own token 10/10 ready for Brudiclad to copy into your clone legion. Disgustingly awesome.

Broodbirth Viper draws us a heap of cards when we clone it and is a neat combo with The Locust God to draw a bunch of cards and create a bunch of haste bound Insects.

Combat Celebrant lets us not only assist with the Broodbirth Viper combo, but helps us reset any additionally made The Locust God Insect tokens.

Speaking of gross things, Bane of Bala Ged is technically Annihilator, exiling two permanents a defending player controls when you attack. Times this by the amount of clones and you may just end up exiling every other players boards. Then add in the sum of Combat Celebrant and you will no longer have any friends.

ALT WINS IN THE BAG!

Mechanized Production lets us win if we have eight or more of the same artifact in play. Not the ENCHANTED artifact, any artifact you control. This deck should make it super easy to win this way.

Scuttling Doom Engine pairs very nicely with Ashnod's Altar when you make all those tokens into copies of the doom engine and then sacrificing them all for colourless mana, and burying every other player in the process.

Throne of Geth plus Darksteel Reactor is a slow but great combo allowing you to overcome a stalled board state, Throne of Geth can also power up your Planeswalkers as well.
