Welcome to another Sealed Success!  For those that don't know, I'm trying to improve my Sealed Deck knowledge in preparation of GP: Oklahoma City, which will be Theros Sealed and Draft.  While we can't really practice Theros Sealed, we can still practice Sealed Deck in general in order to get a feel of how to dissect a pool and build a deck in a limited amount of time.  This past weekend our LGS held a GPT for the GP but it was Modern (totally makes sense), and I didn't have a Modern deck, so I decided to skip it and schedule a date with my girl.  They changed it to Standard at the last minute, but I had already made plans so I didn't go anyway.  For now it looks like I'll be heading into the GP with 0 byes since I don't play enough Magic IRL, but that's no big deal.

Enough about that though, let's get on with the games!

CONCLUSION

Well, at least I haven't open a utterly terrible pool in the 5 Sealeds I've done (saying that, I'm bound to open one next time), and I've never done worse than 2-2, but I've never gone the 4-0 either.  I've seen plenty of blue decks since I've started playing these Sealed DE's, due in large part to the common thought that blue is the best color, not to mention the deepest color as well.  It leads me to wonder if people are just playing blue because they think they have decent cards and aren't really looking at the other colors.  It might just be that blue is that good even if your blue is just okay.  As far as our pool goes, it was good, having lots of rares is always nice, especially in the 2 colors you want to play.  Our blue was pretty good, and it weren't for the Chandra's Outrages, I probably would've gone U/G instead of R/G.  While blue is probably the better color than red, I don't think our blue could beat other blue decks, and I would've had to side out into red most of the time.  I generally want to be more aggressive anyway, so R/G was fine for me.     I'll be back next week with another Sealed DE, possibly RTR Block instead of M14.  Until then, if you have any comments or questions, leave them in the comments section below!
