State of the Program for January 15th, 2021
Temur Cube: The new Spotlight Cube is the Temur Cube from Ellie Rice. You can see a list of the major archetypes and cards in the cube here.
A week of Super Qualifiers: Monday, January 18th will kick off a week full of Super Qualifiers. These events offer two invitations to the Kaldheim Championship on Arena. They will cost their normal entry fees, 40 event tickets, 40 Qualifier Points or 400 Play Points.
Mythic Event Tokens: Going along with the week of Super Qualifiers, Wizards of the Coast is adding Mythic Event Tokens to the store. These tokens give you temporary access to nearly every card on MTGO (Secret Lairs and MTGO promos are not included). You are able to play casually with the cards, and take part in Leagues, Queues, Format and Showcase Challenges, and finally, Super Qualifiers. You must pay the normal entry option as well. These tokens cost 25 dollars and access to the cards lasts until January 27th.
Pauper Ban: (Fall from Favor:CMR) was removed from the format on Thursday, they wanted to address the enchantment before the Super Qualifier on January 23rd.

calendar and the weekly blog, while the best source for known bugs is the bug blog which appears sporadically on MTGO.com. Not listed, but important: Wizards offers either one or two online MCQs each weekend, with qualifiers for limited MCQs running the days immediately prior to the MCQ.

Magic Online Format Challenges
These are high stakes events that happen every weekend. They cost 25 Tix / 250 play points, and last a number of rounds based on participation (assume 5-8), plus a single elimination Top 8. Details, including prize payouts, are
here. Start times are:
Standard: (Transmogrify:M21) even with incredible targets to get with it, is finally shining a little bit in Standard. Might Kaldheim add something new to the deck?
Historic: I know I did this deck recently, but that was also last year, and I needed an updated version of it. Having access to (Seasoned Hallowblade:M21) as another way to put things in the yard is a nice idea!
Legacy: 2021 is just as cold as 2020 was in regards to popular Legacy decks.
Modern: Still trying very hard to show off Modern decks without Fetches. The costs may not be to bad on MTGO, but it is a bit of a bummer in paper, even with reprints coming soon in Modern Horizons 2.
Pauper: Blue decks probably won't fall from favor soon, but if you're looking to take advantage of the Monarch mechanic still, this is where you want to start with the new banning.
Pioneer: (Agent of Treachery:M20) is a nicer target, than the Standard version, and (Teferi, Time Raveler:WAR) offers more protection as well.
Vintage:
The Winner's Circle is where I will recognize winners of the past events on MTGO.

The big number is the retail price of a playset (4 copies) of every card available on MTGO. Assuming you bought the least expensive versions available, the cost of owning a playset of every card on MTGO is approximately a number that I cannot figure out still. I have actually asked Pete to do this for me, because Open Office is weird, and I have no idea what I am doing, and I am pretty close to just being a dog in a labcoat.
