State of the Program for July 31st, 2020
Double Masters: It's out today! Leagues start at 10am PT. You can see the card gallery here, and oh gosh, it looks like there are some spicy pauper downgrades coming to the format. You can check those out here.
Season 2: It's ending soon. Looks like you have until August 12th to use those qualifier points.
Treasure Chest updates: You can see the new stuff about those here.
Player's Tour Championship: The top 8 players are known, but the bracket is not set, as it will be a random draw for seeding. There are 4 Wilderness Reclamation
decks in the top eight and the rest is Mardu Winota, Mono Black Aggro, Azorius Control and Jund Sacrifice. You can see the bracket draw today on the Magic twitch channel at 12pm PT. The actual gameplay will be on the same channel, but on August 1st at 9am PT.
Angela Chandler passes: Angela, a longtime judge and regional coordinator for the southwestern USA Magic community passed away after a more than 15 month battle with cancer. You can give to her gofundme, set up for expenses and her children here. You can also play in a fundraising tournament here. The staff of PureMTGO give our condolences for the family and friends of Angela.
FNM at Home: It's Jumpstart.
This is a list of things we have been promised, or we just want to see coming back. Another good source for dates and times is the
calendar and the weekly blog, while the best source for known bugs is the bug blog which appears sporadically on MTGO.com. Not listed, but important: Wizards offers either one or two online MCQs each weekend, with qualifiers for limited MCQs running the days immediately prior to the MCQ.

Pauper: Pauper is getting some really nice new cards thanks to Double Masters. You can see the list up top, and it caused a bit of an issue on MTGO as the new cards had legality with the update, but no one really knew what they were.
Abrade
is a big one.
Everflowing Chalice
is another one. all told, 25 new to the format cards are coming from the set.
Vintage: Emma Handy had this to say about the deck.
The Winner's Circle is where I will recognize winners of the past events on MTGO.

MTGOTraders YouTube: Did you know that MTGOTraders.com has a YouTube page with videos added Monday, Wednesday and Friday? Well if not, now you do, and you can find it here!
Note: all my prices come from the fine folks at
MTGOTraders.com. These are retail prices, and generally the price of the lowest priced, actively traded version. (Prices for some rare promo versions are not updated when not in stock, so I skip those.) You can get these cards at
MTGOTraders.com web store, or from their bots: MTGOTradersBot(#) (they have bots 1-10), CardCaddy and CardWareHouse, or sell cards to MTGOTradersBuyBot(#) (they have buybots 1-4). I have bought cards from MTGOTraders for a decade and a half now, and have never been overcharged or disappointed.

Modern Staples:
Auntie's Hovel
has jumped on to this list.
Eternal Staples:
Pioneer Staples: It feels like a lot of Pioneer staples have fallen off the list since the format has normalized. It's also weird to me that there isn't much from Inverter or Breach decks on this list.
Standard Legal Sets: This table tracks the cost of a single copy of every card in each Standard legal set, plus Treasure Chests and the current booster pack. I’ll keep tracking these because they are interesting (at least to me). This is being kept as a small tribute to Pete!

The following is a list of all the non-foil, non-promo cards on MTGO that retail for more than $25 per card. These are the big ticket items in the world of MTGO. The list is interesting, at the least. This is interesting to me because a lot of these cards have been reprinted more than once, and they are still commanding a high price.

The big number is the retail price of a playset (4 copies) of every card available on MTGO. Assuming you bought the least expensive versions available, the cost of owning a playset of every card on MTGO is approximately a number that I cannot figure out still. I have actually asked Pete to do this for me, because Open Office is weird, and I have no idea what I am doing, and I am pretty close to just being a dog in a labcoat.
Nevermind, ignore all of that, Pete got it done for me, because he is just the dang best. The big number this week is $26,575. Last time, way back on May 29th it was $27,285. Got another increase this week, this time of 1750. There is a 710 dollar drop there. One would assume that Double Masters has had a hand in this.
I have slept so poorly, but also for so long this week that days are blending in to one another. My bloodwork is really good though, so that's great, I just can't seem to sleep for a set period of time. Getting old is weird. Prices were done on Friday morning, around 3:30 am, in between games of Fortnite and MTGO Pioneer leagues.
This series is an ongoing tribute to Erik “Hamtastic” Friborg.
