Two-Factor Authentication: This is in Account Settings. To turn it on you will be asked for your account password and a 6-digit code sent to the email associated with your account. You can use either an email or authenticator based system. This will help keep your accounts secure, you can read about the system here.

New Foil Tech on MTGO: Aaron Penfold had an interview and overview of how foils on Magic Online have gotten an upgrade, and talks with Cody Hubbard on the use of shader technology for computer graphics and how the base foiling treatment has improved online and how the Cosmium Neon Ink cards came to be on the client. This is a list of things we have been promised, or we just want to see coming back. Another good source for dates and times is the
calendar and the weekly blog, while the best source for known bugs is the bug blog which appears sporadically on MTGO.com. Not listed, but important: Wizards offers either one or two online MCQs each weekend, with qualifiers for limited MCQs running the days immediately prior to the MCQ.

Magic Online Format Challenges
These are high stakes events that happen every weekend. They cost 30 Tix / 300 play points, and last a number of rounds based on participation (assume 5-8), plus a single elimination Top 8. Details, including prize payouts, are
here. Start times are:
Standard: This is different from Azorius Soldiers because there are more creature types in it. It's a most stable but grinding Azoris Aggro deck I think.
Legacy:
Modern: Two Modern decks as well this week. This sweet list looks to blow up your own lands with
Cleansing Wildfire
, ramping into Bust side, leaving your opponent with no lands and you with a board full of lands to get out of sleep with
Rise and Shine
.
Modern 2: I like the inclusion of the Talismen here to get the best options from
Beseech the Mirror
. I thought that was clever.
Legacy 2: We hear all the time (and by we, I mean me) that
Rick, Steadfast Leader
is a Legacy playable and I just so happy to see it here!
The Winner's Circle is where I will recognize winners of the past events on MTGO.

I have been since since last Monday, and now I have an ear infection to go along with getting a lot of orders ready for the Lost Caverns release this week. I am tired all the time. That is also why I did not do the prices section this week. Sick and lazy and also burned out.
This series is an ongoing tribute to Erik “Hamtastic” Friborg.
