Good day to you all! Last week we watched Oath battle it out in some 2-mans, this week we go for broke and run two of the Alpha boon cycle.
The perfect storm is one of, if not the best pure combo decks in the format. TPS is also the biggest contributor to the ill-conceived notion that Vintage is all just turn one kills. It may be because it is built to achieve that goal on a semi-decent draw. The reason I feel like it is the best of the bunch though is that it is also remarkably consistent. With TPS it is usually not correct to try to win on turn one, not when you pack a bunch of discard and counterspells. The fact that it cannot only clear a path, but protect its end game puts it in a tier above the other Dark Ritual builds.
That being said, the list in today’s article is not what I would suggest running. Don't get me wrong, it is very, very close. Unfortunately there are budget restrictions on what I can play. The changes are cosmetic, but Vintage is a game of percentage points. The defects, as small as they seem to be, are really game altering changes.
As you may know from the last article I bought into Vintage with an Oath deck in the Mana Drain pillar. That purchase cost 1,700 tickets. I chose that build because it would allow me to branch out to the most arch-types, for the cheapest amount of continued investment. For instance I was able to build a vastly different
base deck for a mere 60 tickets. Speaking of, I present The Imperfect Storm. Enjoy

Of the various unfun decks to see in Just for fun, TPS (or TiPS as the case may be) is a majority front runner along side blue goodstuff.dec, rarely Oath, and occasionally something else comboish. I wonder if that is why it is harder to build a top version for tourney? Familiarity breeds a sideboard?
For me, playing storm reminds me of playing it in Pauper. I loved playing pauper storm and love those memories of attacking with 41 2/1 haste goblins. I think you deck is a little more pricy than the pauper version.
