Hello everyone,

Seeing as this is my first post I thought I would introduce myself.  My name is DJ and I used to play MtG professionally and grind the PT.  Nowadays I spend my free time making coaching videos and blogging about MtG. I am currently mainly doing pauper videos, but once Innistrad releases I will likely do some Standard videos as well. I always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of the game with local players, and helping them improve. Now I am here to help you take your game to the next level. I want to give back to the game that gave so much to me.

Ok, so enough about me, lets get on to the vids.  Today we have a match vs Mono Red Burn. Lets see how it went.

Here is the list I was running

 Game 1

 Game 2

After a bunch of testing both on and off camera I have found the matchup vs mono red to be pretty close to even. The more creatures they play, the tougher the matchup is for cloudpost, but the version that plays just kiln fiend feels like cloudpost has a slight edge, where the 8 creature version featuring keldon marauders and the fiend backed by molten rain feels like mono red has an edge. If you want a better matchup vs mono red and are playing cloudpost, I suggest adding more expedition maps and counterspells. Prohibit is fine. Too many mana leaks should be avoided, as they become useless fast.  The key cards for Cloudpost are Glimmerposts + Capsize & Counterspells.  If you know they are playing Kiln Fiend you should aggressively mulligan to hand that can deal with it. Save your counterspells for the burn spells that do 3 or more damage and don't get blown out by molten rain and you should be fine.

I appreciate all comments and criticism, but please be respectful. Leave them in the comment section below or on my channel/blog.

Thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy,

G1, when you Compulsive ~7 min, I'd have probably shipped the Island to the GY, saved Flame Slash for his dude, and started burning him with Bolt on EOT, Firebolts on your turn, etc. He's about 3 turns from death that way vs keeping an island you didn't need really.

UR post is an ok deck - I just find it WAY too slow. Pauper has so many cards - it makes for a VERY fast/aggro metagame. Personally, my deluxered decks VERY favorite matchup is against this. Some decks leave small windows to 'go off' this particular deck leaves barn-door sized holes. I do agree with your curve. Cracks me up when people play 4x mulldrifter - like you want to see on in your opening hand lol...
