Yes there are prizes and they are as usual; meaning 2man queues give boosters and then there is the big weekend tournament which offers a promo card for entering and then also booster packs.
The current standing looks like this:
Std Pauper - 1
Core Set - 5
Std Singleton - 6
Standard - 1
I really enjoy the Core Set articles...i'd like to see some in action so my vote is Core Set.
Also...is there prize support for Core Set or is this just something that got started on the interwebs? Just curious as you mentioned there was no filter for it in the deck editor.
Thanks guys for the comments and votes. They really mean a lot to me. Currently it looks like this:
Std Pauper - 1
Core Set - 4
Std Singleton - 5
Standard - 1
Interestingly no one voted for Block so far. I personally like Block a lot and I even thought that Block and Standard would be the runners in this poll. Also it seems that the death of Lorwyn/Shadowmoor wasen't enough to raise interest for Standard Tribal Wars... yet!
Please continue commenting and voting. I appreciate it a lot and this data is really very important for me.
I would vote for more coverage of Core Set Constructed. Standard and Block do not interest me much, and sadly the last variant format I got into (Kaleidoscope) has died. I enjoy your articles, please keep on writing!
I speculate that I could consistently put up a 70% match-win in Swiss (2.352 pks / event), 60% in 4-3-2-2 (1.988 pks / event), and maybe 50% in 8-4 (1.5 pks / event.) [Maybe my speculation is off and the competition doesn't vary that much between each queue-type..]
I played swiss initially then switched to 4-3-2-2. The reason was time commitment. My experience in my two swiss was that rounds were consistently going near the full hour every time, causing these to take substantially longer than a single-elim queue. The secondary reason was that winning more than you came in with is available in 4-3-2-2 and is not in the swiss.
It's readily apparent that while all 3 have the same entry cost, swiss & 8-4 pay out 12 packs where 4-3-2-2 pays only 11 (Yuck!) For now though I'll probably stick with 4-3-2-2 with the goal of improving drafting & gameplay enough to do well in the 8-4s.
they should print a card you can play for free by revealing a white card or a land that can produce white mana that says: If it is turn one or two and you would lose the game instead you do not lose the game your life total becomes 20, discard your hand and draw 7 cards, return any cards from the exiled zone to your graveyard and shuffler your graveyard into your library. then put cycling on the card for w or something.
I always write about what I want to write about and that will also be the case in the future but for the next week I made an exception. I also want to see the general interests of people who read my articles. And Paul if you don't mind, I'm considering your vote as Std Singleton. So it looks like this now:
Std Pauper - 1
Core Set - 2
Std Singleton - 2
Standard - 1
I put Pillage to the sideboard because I wanted to have some maindeck spot and mass removal; Volcanic Hammer and Pyroclasm in this case. Opposition is popular as is White Weenie, and therefore Pyroclasm seemed like a logical choice. But as I said in the article, some prefer Earthquake instead of Pyroclasm. And so Pillage went to the sideboard.
Alright, I'm trying to add this podcast to my Zune's subscribe list, as I'm having difficulties getting it to put the downloaded mp3's file into the Podcast section instead of the Song section of my collection. What I keep trying to do is to go to the Podcast section of the program and hit "Add a Podcast". It asks me for a URL. I tried to use the url of this exact page "http://puremtgo.com/node/2355", the url of the mp3 download (both of the former giving me an error of incorrect format and suggesting an RSS), and the url of the RSS link in the top bar.
If anyone else has any tips for me, I would greatly appreciate it :) Haven't gone into the whole "putting podcasts onto the Zune and listening to them while away from home as opposed to just finding the time while on my computer to listen entirely" until now.
Wait wait, you're censoring yourselves for wizard's sake? Are they paying you? Are you protecting your access to sources? wth, since when is wotc the chinese government?
As a weird coincidence, U/R magnivore was also my first serious tournament deck. Why does your list run the pillages in the sideboard?I would have loved to have pillage main back in kam/rav standard!
I haven't played this format yet (too much borderlands....), but might try to put together a more LD-centric magnivore list when I get around to it..
Well as I got roped into singleton 100 classic and now am geared towards that another such article would not be remiss. On the other hand I am a believer in writing what YOU are passionate about. The reason I haven't been writing of late has to do with this philosophy. I am beginning to not care about MODO. But I do enjoy reading the articles here so write what you know and what you care about and I will continue to read.

wow 700 hits in 10 mins.
Standard Singleton
im going to say we go with 60 card std singleton
I'd like to hear more about Core Set Constructed. Good read!
It's interesting to look at your 2nd chart compared to my own drafting.
I've done 9 ZZZ drafts so far.
2 Swiss:
2-1
3-0
(83% match-win % & 5 pack winnings total)
7 4-3-2-2:
0-1
1-1
1-1
1-1
2-1
2-1
3-0
(63% match-win & 16 pack winnings total)
I speculate that I could consistently put up a 70% match-win in Swiss (2.352 pks / event), 60% in 4-3-2-2 (1.988 pks / event), and maybe 50% in 8-4 (1.5 pks / event.) [Maybe my speculation is off and the competition doesn't vary that much between each queue-type..]

dont even get me ramped up on foil rare drafting!oy if i crack one, look out, and if you pass it to me !!!!
crazy train
Sorry but:
Off topic:
whats about Pauper articles?
tnx
From Webster's Dictionary site, this should help you out and clear things up for you
Comment - \ˈkä-ˌment\
Contest - \kən-ˈtest, ˈkän-ˌ\
I prefer the second pronounciation for Contest (the first is to contest something), so clearly, just think:
ˈkä-ˌment ˈkän-ˌtest
I am sure you will agree this is much clearer and I expect you will have no issues next week :-)
My vote goes to 60 card singleton standard.
I'd like to get into that format but know nothing about it yet.
It's called common sense actually. I've been lucky enough to be privvy to non-public info. That leaves me a couple of options.
1) Run my mouth like a moron and burn that bridge to the ground.
2) Understand that as an adult there are times to keep my mouth shut.
Personally I'm a fan of option two, even if it is difficult. Life is full of things you know but don't say publicly.

http://puremtgo.com/sites/default/files/podcast/fftr37.mp3 try just downloading it and playing it in whatever player you have available.

It'd be nice to see a standard pauper article as all I really see are articles on classic pauper.
all the rude, ignorant criticism always comes from anonymous people.
