I am going to try to work in all the wonderful suggestions everyone has given me but due to length restraints, some things will have to be cut. If I took every single piece of advice that everyone has given me, although the have all been good, my article would be 10 pages long. Nah. Not functionally the same. Neither a brilliant in classic at the moment - but they are not functionally the same, and it would be difficult to say one is strictly better. I have playsets of each and play vindicate more than I play pulse - but that is totally about the deck and the meta.
I don't know, I've never really had any huge difficulties with MUC.
Of course, it does seem to be either a flat-out "I win" or a flat-out "I never had a chance"
type of matchup (playing against it...I don't think I've ever actually piloted a MUC deck in all
the years I've been playing...strange now that I think of it. Maybe I'll have to try once).
As long as we're meandering into other topics though....
What I need is a solid way to handle Affinity in pauper while still being able to at least have
a shot at keeping all the storm combo down.
I never seem to do anything vs Affinity, they just continually blow me out of the water. And when
I try to either maindeck or s.b. against Affinity, then my game vs everything else seems to fall to
silly levels...
Well, mono-U is a pet peeve of mine too (I even tried running ashcoat bear as a matchup-improver, but it didn't work, as it still dies to golem). That three-nacatl hand is only good if you have at least 2 forests, i think, as you need to be attempting to cast 2 on your second turn?
w.r.t. this raffle thing, surely it makes more sense to give 1 entry to everybody who has posted, but not multiple entries for multiple posts? Otherwise, there're going to be a lot of very small and very insignificant posts showing up.....
In my opinion Mutavault is only better in tribal decks like Goblins or Merfolk. For a non tribal deck I'd rather be playing Factories as they pump each other. Oh and Factories are only $1.50 not $3.

Brainstorms aren't that good in pauper because there aren't as many shuffle effects as there are in classic, it's still good in some decks but MUC has no real way to abuse it.
I enjoyed the article, but I think a bit more specific matchup advice would be good, what do you do against MUC if you're playing MBC, what do you do if you're playing affinity, I realise that most of the rules are pretty much universal, but you could add things like playing turn 1 discard and the use of cards with flashback to overpower their counter defense.
I think the contest is a good idea, but I don't think the odds should increase with every additional post, it just encourages spamming and splitting posts into two posts. On the other hand, it was enough to make me put my name rather than posting anonymously :)
ur liost seems pretty loose to be honest. i mean i dotn oplay pauper but i do play mono blue alot.
at the store where we play we just pull out eternal decks legal in either legacy or vintage fro fun of course.
and ebing a spike and playing muc for years and tungin my deck that deck seems just bad.
where are ur thirsts? where are ur brainstorms? telle m what about pauper am i missing?
I like the different take on writing a pauper article - not about which to deck to play but which deck to beat. However, I feel it's not executed as well as it could be. For one, MUC seems like a poor choice at the moment because it's not played as heavily and to such successes as other decks (like affinity). Also, I think the article should have followed the more traditional way of describing match-ups and strategy; only from the other side of the table. As a previous poster already stated, there are different ways to approach match-ups if you're playing different decks. These kind of in-depth strategy articles would be very beneficial for a mediocre player like myself, even if (or: especially if) it deals with established archetypes. I've been entering classic pauper without the experience some of you already have. Let me learn!
I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out - though the examples were sort of an afterthought. Next time I want to be more consistent with the types of examples and their depth... I were the generic sort, II were more story like - I'm not sure which were more effective as they both have their +'s and -'s. Meh, maybe a little of both.
Oh, and the font came out way too big - I don't like that haha

Liked the article. I am so guilty of going into 'auto pilot' mode and focusing too much on my deck and board position instead of the game as a whole.
It may not be 'new' advice but it's 'good' advice and worth reading.
