I thought the show was great, especially for a first try. It was a little shaky at the start, but definitely got better as it went on. In the future I would focus on smoothing everything out and you'll have a great show on your hands. Is it going to come out weekly?
but with all those cards there are condtions. First of all AV, and the pacts and kobolds are all no mana cost which means inherently they have no color. Painters is an in addition too, wayward angel will only work while in play so if you were searching your library for them then you have to be looking for white. lifelace is a change effect...like a bunch of the cards with the word mind in it.
That card...if WOTC ever made it would be green/blue at a minimum although I think that if WOTC ever decided to do that then the card would most likely be green and have a static ability changing it to blue while in play.
"pyrosin - You’re card can’t be blue by definition. You could give it an alternative casting cost with green mana that is less than the blue one you give, but just saying a card is blue doesn't make it blue."
Ancestral Vision (and Painter's Servant, Pact of Negation, Wayward Angel, Slaughter Pact, Crookshank Kobolds, Lifelace, etc.) would like a word with you.
I think the podcast was a quite nice update of what is happening in MTGO and PureMTGO.
The only thing I don't like about it is how one voice is softer than the rest so I can't hear well what he's saying. Other than that, I enjoyed it.
Keep up the good work! =)
name suggestion: Freed from the Real (from the top banner)
whatever the naming, i think having "podcast" in the name is not really popular now.
please call this podcast, crappy McCrap. Take some freaking notes, write a script man, I cringed listening to the beginning of the podcast. Have some topics that isn't old news, that people might actually care about. I listened to the first 2 mins and had to shut it off. I'm sorry, I want my 2 mins back. Get more organized, that was a shame.
"Someone who likes Singleton should tell me why the format exists"
On a casual play level, Singleton is enjoyable because it slows the game significantly, allowing you to play powerful but high-casting cards that you'd normally cut from consideration in a 60-card, 20-life format. It's pretty cool to Dem Tutor for any one of roughly 60 cards, looking for the one perfect answer to a threat.
I would think that Wotc did not expect the mana fixing to allow 5c immediately at shards. Shadowmoor block was somewhat promoting mono-colors and shards was supposed to be promoting 3... 5c has to be supported for all the 5c stuff in conflux. Orchard is getting very good response now but it might end up producing 1c against some decks. Good in block cos everyone plays shardlands but not sure how well it'll do elsewhere.
orchard vs orchard = no mana. Neither side can produce any usable mana.
I think what DL meant was that LSV's most interesting responses were to non-classic questions, not that he was mad/confused about asking Classic questions. Either way, I really appreciate Luis taking the time from his busy schedule of winning GPs/PTs to talk.
I was referring to comments made by WotC people (I can't remember if was Rosewater, Forsythe, Turian, or all of them specifically) when referring to the Reflecting Pool-Vivid Land interaction that birthed 5C control and then was just made more prevalent by Shards of Alara. They claimed that they didn't mean to promote 5C this way, and they didn't believe people would be able to put Pools/Vivids together to great effect.
But now that I think about it have only 2 reflecting pools in play will not allow you to produce any 2 mana. So now that I think about that. I really wonder.
Because I know for fact that a gemstone with out a luck counter will allow a reflecting pool to tap for any color.
No, that is not true. If you read the card it says any mana an opponents land "COULD" produce and those lands "Could" produce any color. So if those are the only lands in play on both sides. They will produce any mana. It is like having a Gemstone cavern in play with out a luck counter with a reflecting pool. Even though the Gemstone doesnt provide any color the reflecting pool still does, because the gemstone again "Could" produce any color.
I have played a lot of 4-man queues with a Jund deck that splashe 4x O-rings and 1 Ajani(all I have). Anyways, it does pretty well with lots of 2 for 1s like dragon fodder, elvish visionary, sprouting thrinax, and broodmate dragon, also jund battlemage(but I am still not sure about him). I will definitely have to give a PE a try. Great tourney report by the way.
I fully agree that this mode of recording is useful. I have been doing it since july. Every single classic pe i attend gets its own date floowed by the number of players and my deck for the event then its pretty much as you described it although i also write down my sb for every sb game that i make changes. This has helped emeasurably on multiple fronts. I can see match up percentages for large chunks of the meta, i can see where my luck is up or down(i also track my rating through each rd)and lots of other things.
oh and LSV your doing a great job and wearing out my little flag that i hold up when watching coverage. Its too bad your so good cause you have no time for classic.
As of Wed last week, Natural Order was a 3.25 ticket card. Checking today it's at 12. Either it's in a Competitive deck that's about to put up some good numbers or it's speculation for the big beefy 5Color creatures we're about to get.
I imagine it will be in the Movers and Shakers next week. :)
If both have Exotic Orchards only, no one produces any mana. But if one of the players has a island for example, all the Exotic Orchards will tap for "U".
I have a feeling the price went up after the conflux spoilers went out and progenitus was spoiled.. Natural order out a progenitus and it's pretty much gg.

I would guess that anything in the paper world will have an effect on the meta game online as well, albeit to a different degree.

that would be because he is a classic player. walkerdog is obv going to ask classic questions.

Looks to me like you asked LSV a lot of questions about classic that he either had very little opinion about or simply didn't care.
All the best answers he gave were in those questions which had nothing to do with classic...
im glad you enjoyed it hope to see you next PE. or the upcoming events that will be hosted with Conflux

Good comments Blade, I'll see what I can do for the next article. :)

What does this have to do with mtgo?
Great card! Absolutely fantastic. And of course WoTC is promoting 5 color decks. It is a five color set with domain cards.
turns out my list had 6 figures in it for some reason...idk where the other 2 extra cards came from though
I have a feeling the price went up after the conflux spoilers went out and progenitus was spoiled.. Natural order out a progenitus and it's pretty much gg.
nope its 60 you must have just miscounted.
