Structure of a Persuasive Academic Essay | 2021 Guide

Many instructions and manuals will tell you that the write my essay has to be structured in such and such defined parts. Each part with a different type of information or text performing a specific purpose.

The essay is a journey for the readers and it is structured in a way to guide them from the introduction of the topic to the conclusion of the argument.

The three paths that the essay takes through writing are:

  1. The Introduction – It is usually the first part of an academic essay and it contains all information about what is going to be discussed in the body of the paper.

The introduction starts with a sentence in which you state your thesis statement. This will be followed by some sentences explaining why this topic has been chosen, how it has grown until that point, what books or write my paper will help you analyze it better, and pointing out its importance. Finally, end on a positive note. A couple of examples should make everything clear:

An example: Some believe that most wars are caused by climate changes while others claim that greed is hiding behind them; however my opinion is that people must look beyond the obvious to find what really causes war.

  1. The Body – It is where you will support your thesis statement and write down all arguments. Each of these points should use a well-structured scheme and be supported by pieces of evidence. You can choose from the following schemes: compare/contrast, process, cause and effect, argument structure, classification or division and definition. Remember that facts are not enough! Your essay needs to be persuasive so you have to convince the reader why your point is stronger than others (which won't be possible if you don't offer solid evidence)or seek a paper writing service.

An example: Some people claim that we are all different but there is some truth in saying that each one of us has at least one thing in common.

  1. The Conclusion – It is where you sum up everything you have said before and it should be made of a couple of sentences (the less the better). This part serves to make readers see that though the journey was long, they did not lose their way.

An example: Many people might find this statement absurd but if we keep our minds open until the end, there is nothing that can't be proven.

It is good practice to read your essay backward once it is finished because this will see you how much logical sense each sentence has, what order would be best for the reader and what point you were trying to get across at first (if you have forgotten yourself along the way.) If something is not clear, you might have to rewrite it.

  1. Audience - Before writing an essay writer essay, ask yourself who will be reading it and what they expect from you? Your teacher or professor wants to see that the subject has been researched well enough so he/she expects a well-structured argument together with facts and examples which support it. The reader might be an expert in this field or a common person; therefore your language should vary according to the context as well as the level of analysis and detail used in each point being discussed.

  1. Structure - The structure of your paper depends on how much time you have, what is required by the assignment guidelines, and whether or not you are allowed to use headings. In this essay, we are going to focus on a standard structure found in most academic papers and which is: introduction – the body of the paper – conclusion.

  1. Tense - Academic essays are written in past tense because they deal with facts or ideas which have already happened; however, if you want to write yours in present tense, follow these simple rules: i. The Introduction can be written in either tense but since it is only where the topic for discussion has been presented, it should remain intact when changing tenses. ii. The Body should be entirely written in the past tense until you start talking about your own research and/or examples that come from yourself (personal experience).

Let the structure be guided by the logic and the flow of argument only then.

  1. Headings - Not all teachers and professors allow their use; therefore it is crucial to know how to write a persuasive academic essay without them. The first thing we must keep in mind is that content is the king! If your reader can't follow your writing or has to struggle through numerous repetitions, he/she will not be able to reach the end of your paper with pleasure because it will feel like hard work instead. This might lead him/her to believe that the quality provided by each point made isn't enough and therefore go for someone else's opinion which s/he finds easier to read through, comprehend and remember or else consider an essay writing service
