After a brief discussion of my flameout in last Saturday's Last Chance Qualifier for the upcoming Invitational, I talk about the new time slot changes before addressing some comments about last week's article and giving my opinion on what, if anything, should be restricted in the format.

Scheduled Events are Back, and the only things changed are the schedule and the price and payout of PEs (which both got better.) I break down the whys and wherefores. Prices are rebounding, GP Fort Worth was covered in ice, but that could not stop Huey Jensen, and I rant about the lack of prior warning of the return of MMA. All this, and more, just a click away.

Winning game one might be just about whoever gets to go first, but what about game 2 and 3? Having the luxury to change your deck AND knowing who plays first can improve odds greatly in your favor. Do you know what it takes to make a good sideboard? Is there some unknown reason why you often lose the third game? Let me help you by covering the do's and don'ts of sideboarding.

Been a while since I wrote an article here, but let's switch things up for a minute. =) Rather than talk about my commander league events, I want to talk about a longtime project of mine.

Now that standard has become a rock scissor paper format, playing the top deck just isn't good enough anymore. Besides, can anyone tell me what the best deck is at the moment? In a tournament full of paper decks, a single scissor might win it. At the same time, that scissor is going to be smashed in a tournament full of rock decks. In this article you can read about blending decks to gain a favorable matchup against otherwise very unfavorable matchups.

Commander: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the tournament SUNCOM. Its five-year (?) mission: to explore strange new game states, to seek out new massive token generations and new crazy mana ramps, to boldly go where no MTG player has gone before.

There's a new survey out from Classic players on the state of the format. With Classic being extended another seven months and the Dec. 20 B&R update coming up, I look at what the purpose of a Restricted List is and what constitutes a healthy format and a dominant archetype. I then apply this analysis to Classic over the past year to determine whether the data shows if Classic is currently healthy or whether something ideally needs to be restricted on December 20.
