I loved the new layout.
Its the easier way to you organize it and to us, readers, go through topics that interest us
but it'd be nice if the links were at the bottom of each section as well from a navigation standpoint so people don't have to scroll all the way back up. [2]
I really liked the attempt at a new structure to better organize the article, but I agree that the scrolling up and down to get to new sections is a bit tiresome.
Is there any reason we can't get a Show/Hide "Spoiler" button option, sort of like the ones that are used on the MTGSalvation forums? I think that would be a much better solution to the problems you are trying to address with the tabs.
i don't mind the new layout, but it'd be nice if the links were at the bottom of each section as well from a navigation standpoint so people don't have to scroll all the way back up.
All in all, if it's a hassle to maintain this new formatting, I'd say it's not really worth it.
I look forward to your article every week. The information is valuable and your unbiased view is really a breath of fresh air. This article was no different in content, however I must agree with LE that the layout doesn't work. Worth a shot, but I'd suggest going back to the old format.
Hammy, I personally didn't like the new look. Didn't look like an article to me. There's a lot of effort in this week's SotP and a lot of useful information but there's something that doesn't feels right which I think is the look of the article.
Personally I prefer the old traditional style (Maybe it's because I'm a bit conservative).
"This pick might have been a mistake. Mage is a good card to take, vanguard would have been an early beater, but since I was firmly in red, I decided that I could take the chance and try this card out."
Blinding Mage is like...the second best white common, and easily surpasses many uncommons in its color.
P3P1 Magma Phoenix
"Harms Way may have been the correct pick here, but really, can you turn down a recurring threat if the game goes long?"

"The M10 price tank is having splash damage on the previous versions of the cards as well (which are all now linked correctly in the table below!) 8th/9th Wrath of God, Ravnica Birds, etc. All falling down too, thanks to the huge supply of now available M10 versions. Yowzers!"
"Land Tax is pure card advantage but I can't think of how you would want to make use of it efficiently. I'll do that in my free time while I get 3 lands..."
I've been playing ten-ish games in tourney practise room with your boros list (changes: -3 hobble -2 vithian stinger, +3 o-ring +2 fireslinger) and it's more than just an aggro deck - a lot of creatures add value, firebolt and flame jab keep coming back for more and there's lots of evasion. I like it. Two notable wins were against affinity: I was even able to stop a 3x disciple 2x enforcer on turn 3 draw, then win with fliers. Marauder has been good overall. I like it a lot.
A difficult matchup is the very popular and strong Ubw Teachings. Do you find that hard as well?
I didn't mean to say that it was a bad way to learn, I just haven't met anyone personally who started with it and was happy that they did. Would love to hear from players who got a lot out of Portal!
Pingers are there as supplemental creature removal and a persistent source of damage. They also help you win combat phases. In future versions of the deck, I would shift towards Sparksmith since he is far better at taking care of armies.
With regards to Crypt Rats- considering MBC and MBCu are two of the most heavily played decks in the format, with Nightsky aggro no slouch in that department, and all three run Crypt Rats, it makes sense to have a plan for such a creature in the main.
So much has to go right for Commando to work. First, you need to have it stick around long enough to connect and they need to have no blockers. If you're in a stalemate (which is possible, considering the other creature decks present in Pauper), he's just going to sit around as a 2/2.
Marauder, on the other hand, can come down on turn two if need be and attack, which, more often than some believe, is the right play. Additionally, once you have six lands, he can come down and shock right away, help break open stalemates, and can more reliably deal with creatures than its Onslaught counter part.
Definitly one of your best article. Congratulations, what an awesome work ... and lot of notalgical memories with your history parts... a reference article.
I think the new layouts awesome and definately something i would like to see explored in future articles (by more than just hammy).
im never getting from the vaults, !!!!!!dam you wotc
I concur

regardless of game length the pheonix was the right pick. A 3/3 flyer with a 3 point pyroclasm that comes back is near bomb status.

i didnt' like the new format because it was hard to follow.

Have I just seen Sleep table? And another one go to pick 7?
Great point! It's still related to M10 + demand changes... just not due to being IN M10. :D
Going to Extended Only has tanked Wrath across the board.
Good catch though!

Wrath of God isn't in M10?

Try scroll rack or brainstorm.
