I also know what it's like to lose someone. I guess everybody does to a point. Horrible news and I'm very sorry to hear it. Strange how much a death can affect you even if it is a "friend of a friend", or a little closer in your case. Good article.
Minor correction, there was only one member of Team Turbo Lorthos actually playing the namesake deck (myself), everyone else was wearing the shirts as a sign of solidarity. It's a terribly bad deck, I couldn't convince my friends to hamstring all of their chances by running it (nor did I want them to!) Definitely the best PTQ ever, though, in terms of sheer fun.
I think WotC would prefer to keep the power 9 rare and expensive, instead of each being just another $20 rare. Again, in the unlikely event that they're brought online in the first place.
What I would suggest is ordering the decks in the charts better. Quite often the 1st/3rd decks are about the same as are the 2nd/4th and that makes it hard as you scan left to right. I keep jumping from the 3rd back to the 1st and the 4th to the 2nd to make sure they really are the same.
Keeping similar decks next to each other would help, I think. I like the info though.... good work.
What specifically is wrong with the charts? Which charts are hard to read? Are the colors too glaring, or is it difficult to read due to the organization of the data?
I am constantly tweaking and making improvements to my graphs, and I love to get constructive criticism when it's something I can use.
Trying to play magic while holding a fussy baby is one of the craziest things I've ever attempted.
Besides the fact that is it hard to make strategic decisions when someone is screaming at you at the top of their lungs, you also have to worry about your little bundle of joy needing a diaper change, or a bottle, or spitting up on the keyboard. There are just too many nightmare situations when you mix Magic and babies.
I have played MTGO many times while holding a fussy baby in the middle of the night. Sometimes they just want to be held, and it is a great excuse to get in that midnight draft.
What on Earth is "paper classic"? Are you referring to Vintage? Although Vintage numbers are slightly down from its recent peak, the format is still alive and well, although at a strange equilibrium with the most powerful archetypes dominating. I think you're overreaching a touch.
Sadly they can make another MED1 and if MED4 is anyhting like it, we will have a set that won't sell, prices high availability low with Classic dying as a result.
FOW is not a barrier to play......Research has shown there are plenty of viable successful decklists not using the card. The problem is that without owning FOW you really can't play the color.
I feel the P9 will eventually make its way online. Unfortunately I doubt it will be in MED4, which is sad.
med4... i await fastbond
i don't think it will contain all the p9, maybe timetwister

both are legacy sideboard cards that see infrequent use, someone may be hoarding
Thanks will try to adapt for classic

I've done the baby holding thing. I had a sweet set up to where i could mtgo and feed my son at the same time.
yea, i tried to do the baby holding while drafting, end result, angry wife.
Count me in on baby holding while playing. 3 kids now...

Thanks for your comments.
Just because you're married, doesn't mean you stop thinking about the opposite sex. I'm married too, and I think about my wife quite a bit.
Check out the recent Ben Bleiweiss series on the subject on Starcity.

Thank you for your response,
It's good to know I'm not the only one with the chess background and the ability to go overboard when it comes to games and competition.

Sure if only 50 people want to play online Vintage, then that is a good idea-insert sarcasm here-
In the unlikely event than any Power 9 ever see print online, it will not be in a buyable set but as hard to come by promo cards.
Are all 1020 cards going to be done 12 at a time? This series might take a while.

how do you cast chatter of squirrels when he casts the eddict, its a sorcery
Fair enough, then this is reasonable.
