I think the problem with Wall of Reverence is that it's a white control card that costs four. The chances of it beating out something like Moat or Humility for the slot in a white control deck seem low to me.
Nice article. Two things though. Take the extra 10 minutes in the end to format it nicely and one of the Classic PEs last weekend actually fired and has been entered at CQ.com, too.
THIS IS
UNFAIR!
This deck focusses on hard-to-stop attakers, which are paired with a hard-to-break-through defence. This combination gives you a edge in the late game, because they can barley get through but your creatures are almost unstoppable.
I was wondering if it would make more sense if the changes in the Ham-Jones were expressed as a % change rather than a $ change, since a complete classic set cost significantly more than a standard set.
BTW, the casual room is super-fun today. No one can get a game going except through challenges. The mtgo-bashing has gotten so rampant in the chat room, the mods aren't/can't stopping anything except the most flagrant offenses. It's a raging argument/hatefest in there.
15 qps would normally be tough, but fun to get, if it weren't for v3 being horrible. Lag might not kill me if I'm just playing a draft queue per week. But if I step up my playing to a level needed to hit 15 qps, I'm gonna hit a lag or crash or drop all the time. Not to mention the trade lag making it totally difficult to make a constructed deck... I just don't understand why Hasboro is pushing all this cash into prize support, when all I really want is a program that doesn't blow total ass.
I saw the movie, and it was horrid. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but the die-hard fans of the comic (then again, even they might be disappointed). The trailers looked good for it, too, and even though I never read the comic, I was looking forward to it. It certainly wasn't what I was expecting. It's incredibly slow-moving plot caused two of the friends I went to see it with to walk out in the last 15 minutes.
Unfortunately that horrible lag from the release events weekend is back. Just a few minutes ago before I wrote this, I waited more than 4 minutes to create a game and another 4 to join it! That is like 10 minutes in total to get into a game; only to concede after mulliganing to 3!!! Now I must wait another 10 minutes to get a chance to play again!
The ORCs don't give much information about what's causing it (most probably because they don't know anything about the reason) and they only say that Wizards is aware of it and that they work on it. The question "when will they fix it?" is still unanswered.
Of course this seriously boring lag issue does not change the fact that the information in this article is very useful as always.
Really enjoyed your podcast! Especially the discussion of prices in the secondary market and MTGO news. Just curious what the podcast feed address is so I can subscribe.
nice overview of expected strengh of conflux cards. Classic players, as i am, would appreciate your comment for sure.
No love for Wall of reverence (heavy CMC but nice control effect), Shard convergence (coulb be interesting to test with seismic assault), Mark of asylum (should be a nice SB card vs rdw), or outlanders (zombie & goblin seem to me interesting in control archetype to deal with goyf/thresh) ... ?
Gosh darn you Pete!
Scooped b4 i could even start writing about the topic.
Verey nice article and i like the way you layed it all out. I am a little disapointed though as i was all about writing up a very similar article.
Always a great read, hammy - I was curious how you get your prices and compute the ham-jones. I read through the archives and saw that you get some data from MTGOtraders. Are the listed prices (and ham-jones) the sell price at a specific point during the week from MTGOTraders? How do you get and compile all that data - is there a spread between different bots and is there much intra-week fluctuation?
I'm curious if you had this problem with many different bots or just a select few. Last night I found three bots in particular where collections would load, I would make my selection, but there was no way to confirm. However, I was successfully able to trade with a number of other bots, slowly but surely as also experienced by Hamtastic.
My favorite article of yours yet. A great tool for both decklists from the GP and also the missing pieces potential deckbuilders must work around for online play. Good stuff.

Was this happening this week, or during the first week?
I hadn't seen this happen since the first horrible weekend of doom and despair.
