About esper my opinion is you over-analysed it. The way esper cards passed by you it seems as almost nobody was playing esper (or there was a lot of esper cards in the packs). One possibility is just like you, the other players decided not to go esper to avoid competition.
In the Suicidal Charge discussion I agree with you, all the times I have played it had been useful.
It's a play on the colors Night = black, Crawlers = green, and of course, nightcrawlers just happens to be black worms. I hope you find it to be catchy and fitting for this deck.
ok i was wrong i thought some one would go through the cards before hand and pick out ones that they would think the should be that release it to the market. you where right i never thought about that one being a rare and the other uncommon i thought it was based on playing.
Mystery Program?
* Booster boxes?
* A PayPal-like service that lets you buy stuff for other users? Perhaps only in store credit form? ("SELLING: Underground Sea for 40 tix or $36 store credit.")
* Friday Night MTGO?
How do foreign users pay $4 for a booster pack anyway? I just thought of that. I bet they get screwed with a bunch of arbitrary fees.
It's actually just people not wanting to wait to add new cards to their deck right away. Most people who buy cards right after they come out know they are spending more money than they would if they waited a week, but they don't seem to mind.
And Nicol Bolas is a mythic rare. Volcanic Fallout is an uncommon. Even if Fallout may be more playable, there are a lot more of them around.
People want to try to grab things that they think will be the new Tarmogoyf. People like paying $3 for what turns out to be a $50 card. Turns out there wasn't anything like that in Conflux (yet at least), but it's very hard to predict. It's like playing the stock market.
