I agree felorin i should of went with that build. But for some reason I added in the mirrorweaves because I was expecting on running against a bunch of lords/lieges. But I will add in the Ajanis and keep the list simple thx for the advice
With both Spectral Procession & Cloudgoat Ranger in there, there's no reason not to run Glorious Anthem AND Ajani in the deck. I believe Luis Scott Vargas had them both in his deck that came in 2nd at the last Pro Tour a week ago. Can't argue with the former national champ saying they're good, right?
thank you Yi60 for the advice, to be honest i was really debating which one to chose the planewalker or the enchantment as you see i opted for the enchant and did horrible. I will try and run it with some Ajani and hopefully i will do better
I too think that the Connoisseur is an underrated card But I prefer the dragger since it can smooth your draws and still serve as a lava spike or food for devour and bone splinter.Besides its a solid 3/3 for 4 instead of 3/3 for 5. The Corpse has more of a raw power in him but I think the dragger its the solid pick there.
Sure I think Corpse Connoisseur is underrated but at this point Viscera Dragger is so much better. It's cheaper, it costs less and and cycles. Connoisseur doesn't cycle. Also at this point he doesn't know how much unhearth he'll have so he doesn't know how good Connoisseur will be. Viscera is always good. He picked the card that has more chances of being better instead of taking one that might be amazing or could just be mediocre. And finally: Connoisseur could very well come back because like I said it's underrated.
Pack 1, pick 3 if you're not gonna go with the Tower Gargoyle, I think Corpse Connoisseur is superior to the Viscera Dragger. If you get some more unearth cards (which you did), casting him is equivalent it's kinda like he says "When Viscera Dragger comes into play, search your library for a Spark Elemental and put it into your hand". Plus he gets to Unearth and hit again, plus when he does so you get to throw ANOTHER unearth guy in your graveyard for free. If you have enough mana open you could unearth that second guy too for a big alpha strike. I would definitely take him over a Viscera Dragger in most cases.
The point I'm trying to make is that taking the Gargoyle is alot safer of a pick then you think sure if you first pick it and pass some esper cards with it then you might be fighting with the people next to you. But like the other guy said getting it third tells you that the two people to your right are not in esper and if you had taken the two trilands and then the tower gargoyle the people to your right probably would be in naya so you would be setting yourself up to get alot of good cards pack 2. It just seemed like you didn't pay attention to what else was in the pack besides the card you were picking. By taking a Tower gargoyle and passing a woolly thoctar and vithian stinger you are sending clear signals to your left just like the person to your right did by passing the Gargoyle. He clearly didn't want to be in esper. Also the 4 cards of hate against epser shouldn't be enough to turn you away from such a potentially powerful deck. Odds are they won't be playing them main deck so you should take game 1 and then when they side them in it's one or two extra cards of removal. That's not enough to avoid picking the shard. Every shard has hate. Relic of Progenitus is good against grixis and Controlled Instincts is good against Naya you just have to play around them.
Im not argumenting that by taking the Gargoyle I'll be making my opponents pick more esper cards but Im sure I dont know how the draft will proced from there. Also Im not a big fan of the gargoyle or esper in general since I've been seeing people highly pick the artifact distruction cards both in Alara and Conflux.
I get that if you had picked differently there would be different cards that's just simple logic. However I don't see how you taking good esper cards would make other people take more of them. If anything you taking the tower gargoyle takes at least one person out of esper which should help you even more. The pro green outlander is alot better than you think it can single handidly shut down a naya deck on the ground. The darklit gargoyle is pretty underated as it's going to be attacking for 3 in the air on turn 3 most of the time. What more do you want from a 2 drop? I never said that esperzoa was anything near Tower Gargoyle but it's still a 4/3 flyer for 3 and is great in an aggresive deck that can support it with cards like parasitic strix and kaliedostone. Even if you didn't play it you still would have 3 esper cormorants and a tower gargoyle as well as plenty of other aggrestive flying creatures that are almost unstoppable if played right.

Sorry for the double post. I also would like to enter the 'Spectre of Death' as a deck title.
Thanks

I propose naming it the 'Grim Reaper' deck.
Goodluck to all!
