If it happened in the past couple of days it wouldn't be on my list. Due to the amount of crunching I have to do I get the price lists on Wed and write the article on Thursday night, which means that if it happened to change late day Wed or Thursday, it won't show up until the next week.

MTGO prices very, very dynamic so it happens pretty often that a certain card will move right after I get the prices for the week. :(

It's just basic supply and demand. There's huge demand for the new cards because they're shiny and new, people want them. There's little supply because not many packs have been opened yet. This combination leads to high prices - it's what people are willing to pay.

  • State of the Program - March 6th, 2009   16 years 10 weeks ago

Why is that when a new product like conflux comes out that a lot of people look for cards that are hight before they come out and a mybe a week or two later the cards that were high in price drop so much.
who comes up with the prices right after they are released. i just start playing again and ala and conflux where the two that i start with when i was at my first draft all people where talking about was Nicol,Bolas Plainswalker i would have thought that Volcanic Fallout would have been alot more because of the fact it does 2 damage to each creature and each player and it can't be countered.

i live in a small town in pa and there is really noone to play but there is tornaments held at the mall i would like to start writing about. anyway ty

Its subject to interpretation obviously. I prefer so because most of the times the person drafting 5 colors doesnt have a clear thought on why they drafted it and they have the wrong cards. Like going 5 color aggro and stuff.

  • Drafting AAC #1   16 years 10 weeks ago

If you draft regularly and have some insight about the game then your comment is kind of odd. If you picka diferent card in any booster the rest of the draft will obviously not go equal. If I picked the 3 land its quite possible that the cards passed to me would be quite diferent right?I think you also value some cards too high. The outlander guys are nice 2 drops but not worth of changing an entire draft. Darklit Gargoyle is ok but not spectacular. Esperzoa again is nice if you have any tricks like the parasitic or the -1 +1 life guy into play. If not its just a tempo disavantage that can be easily dealt with removal and artifact distruction. Its not a Tower Gargoyle. Agony Warp,Skeletonize,Resounding Thunder kills it.Cloudheath Drake,Skeletal Kathari or Cormorants block it.I play Excomunicate very rarely and only in extensive beatdown decks,so I wouldnt think too high on lapse of certainty too. Its a bomb 15% of the times when you hit spot removal or combat tricks or alpha strike.Anywhere else is a tempo advantage I prefer to use in aggro decks.

    Hello Hamta
I dont know how you choose the cards you're talking about in your prices varitation tables, but maybe you could mention that Mutavault's price is decreasing actualy.
If i have not mistaken, the current price is around 16 (it was 20 some days before) who is a nice discount around 15/20% ...

    peace & go on ;)

    1. Growth of the Wurm

    (not Roar :) )

    2. Over Wurm

    (sounds similar to Over worn)

    Ivo.

P.S. The deck submission is correct, you could use up to three 3xs. There is no conflict at all.

  • Stronghold Precon Project - and the Winner is!   16 years 10 weeks ago

The deck may not include more than 3 copies of any given card (excluding basic lands, of course)

The deck may only include 3 cards that have more than 2 copies

Yes these two rules seem to be a bit conflicting. However, the winning deck seems to be under the guidelines just fine.

I will message WOTC and see what they have to say about it.

Please tell me there is an error in the decklist. Otherwise the winning deck does not conform to the competition rules as there are 3 overgrowths, 3 Endangered Armadon, and 3 Rampan Growth!
