Volrath curse ALSO can be used by your opp to make capsize or mind games fail. And its return clause is bad, because opp can always sac the enchanted critter in response. Wow, what a horrible, horrible card.
Shadow Strike
MTGonline nickname: NightAngelRj
The reason for the name is simple. Even if it's a controllish deck, a proactive name makes it much more attractive, while staying true to the deck's nature (it is a weenie deck after all)
Also a comment: Volrath's curse was an incredibly bad card choice, anti-synergistic with lock enchantments like pacifism and shackles. Contempt from stronghold would be a much better choice, creating synergy with the overall bounce theme and soul warden.

The article does not say how many we are allowed to submit. If I remember correctly, people suggested mutliple names last time, so I went ahead an gave a few. If, in fact, we are only allowed to submit one suggestion, then this is my favorite that I came up with:
Bait The Hook
My e-mail address is provided privately and contains my name. Thanks for holding these contests. They are a great way to get the community involved.
I would name the deck: SLIPPERY FISH!
1. Cause there are so many "fishes" in deck (those slimy soltari soldiers and merfolks).
2. Cause the deck is overall "slippery" and annoying cause of the control.
3. Cause all lots of names of spells start with letter "S". :D
4. The deck is slippery as a fish. Fishes are slippery and by that it means that deck is slippery since it has so much control and annoys the opponent (slips from his hand). Then it fish as its slippery as fish but at the same time there is a lot of "fish" creatures (soltari soldiers and merfolks).
Maybe stupid reasons, but to me it seams cool and slippery, lol :D
How can people enjoy playing Cascade? Guess it's a skill issue. Bad players must just love the thought that they can randomly lucksack themselves out of anything.

Remember, deck names should be fun and evocative. Wizards of the Coast will make its decision based on the name it feels captures the decks theme the best. Deck names that match the name of any existing Theme Deck, Intro Pack, or Magic: The Gathering card cannot be considered.
I usually don't comment on articles, but I just wanted to say good job, it was an entertaining read. I particularly enjoyed the layout you chose, as it was well organized and easy to follow.
Great article, the formatting moving around was a bit screwy but writing anything and then fixing it with the editor is truly a pain.
Felidar is just broken and it is going to truly ruin my favorite game atm of 2 headed giant. I forsee just about everyone putting together a cheap white/green lifegain/elf/trace deck and try to hit Felidar by turn 4 for a cheap win.
On the other hand I can't wait to build a Rampaging Baloth, Scapeshift, Harrow, Lotus Cobra deck. That is if I can pickup Cobras before they hit $30 each.
Marit Lage combo is not competetive. There's too much good bounce in the format with repeal, echoing truth, venser, cryptic command and the allmighty path to plowshares.
and yeah, hypergenesis is a top contender for the next season. I expect that card to break the 5$ easily, since the combo is hard to stop without specific hate. And you know, if people hate it too extensive, dredge and affinity will have it more easy to make good results.
Interesting take Cotton and I did consider that but this is the first time the Elders have been available online so it is natural that as people become more aware of their existence they will go up in demand and price. :)
I think he was trying to say, "yes, getting two lands and drawing a card is good, but that is what the card has always done. Why did the price increase since last week?"
The overall deck idea isnt bad, but just to beat a dead horse even further, volrath's curse kills bunnies and makes jeebus cry. :)

It seems I'm a little late to the party here - but I'll jump this congratulatory bandwagon. I'm super happy for you - represent us well!

Nice job, I like your enthusiasm and agree that the set will be nuts, in a good way.

thanks for writing it

Maybe somrthing to do with Landfall effect in Zendikar as well?
I second that. Good job and looking for more.

GJ! although i dont agree with a lot of what you say in the article I appreciate the amount of work you put into this endeavor.
Your english is fine for me and I just really want to give you a clap clap at the detail and work in this thing.
dont stop doing what your doing.
Congrats! Power to the digitals and all that.

I know lol, but that was just so you can imagine how powerful this card is. To give the more "woah" part into it lol :)
You may have missed his sarcasm.
I think he was trying to say, "yes, getting two lands and drawing a card is good, but that is what the card has always done. Why did the price increase since last week?"
Why do you think 5x Iona would be good in any way?
Read the card again. Notice the part that says "Legendary"....
I was, just got back =)
