Marcus this is another excellent article with full of very important details and a lot of hard work. I really do appreciate the effort you put into your articles and they are also very informative, and these facts make you one of my favorite writers.
After I tested with thunderbolt for a while I realize that this card is SUPERIOR to all other 2cc Burn Spells, because it can kill Ephemeron and Spire Golems :0
You can check my latest version of the build in my blog http://thepureskill.blogspot.com/ .
thanks paul and WiP i never used this site before even after hearing about it, though ouch thats still quite pricey..hmm maybe singleton isnt my format...
When I play burn, I usually slow down my deck with 4 Ghostfire and 4 Pyrite Spellbomb so I can handle the anti-red creatures. Thus equipped I can usually deck Slivers, and the percentage against Affinity is even higher. My win percentage against affinity since I started aiming all the burn at their creatures is like 90%.
I love accidentally loading up my burn deck since its the highest alphabetically in my deck folder when I restart the program and open a queue, only to win with it unintentionally.
I'd recommend thunderbolt over something like volcanic hammer, shard volley seems bad but now that other red players are running chain lightnings it's beneficial to be able to keep mana open during your opponents turn in the mirror
Hope you all like this one. tried to get as much of the deck into it as possible. The first entry is my main one.

Just off the top of my head replacing Shards with Hammer of Bogardan couldn't be horrible. It gives you some recursion if you fail to win early and hits player or creatures. Yes it is slower but it gives more bang for the buck.
While I agree with the basic premise of this article some of the offside comments about artists and particular card art had me rolling my eyes. Imho the Folios are some of the more talented artists hired by WotC in the early days of the game (alongside Quentin Hoover, RKF, and M Benson who while not very personable is very good.) Giant growth has several images that I think are cool if not "WOW MUST BUY THAT!"
Something you failed to mention but should be said always when discussing this sort of thing: Art is in the eye of the beholder and also while sometimes card art is beautiful (or ugly as the case may be) it isn't always a good fit with the card matched to it. I do like the mention that reduced size fails to do the artwork justice, considering the artists usually render the images as full scale paintings.
Favorite piece is hard. A lot of the art is so good it is hard to say this piece or that piece is heads and toes above the others. I have to say I really love the new Zendikar Islands with the floating cup shaped rocks.
imo, you show far far more even and bad matchups then good in your litt;e inventory. are the ques really that lopsided in terms of decks this thing wants to see? it seems like there is just too small a percentage of good matchups to want this deck if you were serious about winning a 6-7 rd event.
Of course expensive/not expensive is relative to the cash on hand. Yes individually a lot of the cards mentioned are affordable if you have any cash at all but all together they represent a fairly sizable chunk of change. (In particular the 5c mana group is heavy with duals.) I like the fact that you grouped the cards according to function. And the totals while perhaps not 100% accurate are a good indication of what a particular deck might cost to upgrade/make. I'm surprised you didn't go into more depth on the validity of the various tutors etc. Perhaps next article?
Ok ill be honest i love the articles you write. Unfortunately i have no idea where to even begin in this format. If possible could someone link me to a cheap monored burn deck that way i can get a feel and not spend too much cash?
Some anonymous posters do honestly express an opinion and many times there is validity to those opinions. (Opinion being the operative word.) It is also a great way to hide when what is being said is meant to attract flames.
Absolutely it is trolling to share your opinion in a way that is inflammatory in the hopes of getting a negative response to further puff up your fragile ego. Even if you are saying what you honestly believe to be true which I highly doubt since you can't stand by your word and tell us who you are (needless fear of retribution maybe?). Also calling people names is just kindergarten level trolling. Truly good trolling has not been seen on this board yet. :)

I assume you mean the Dreadnought? I think a textless land would be better than the Colossus :)

I was thinking about MB Pyrite Spellbomb too ( I really don't like Shard Volley ) :)
I had the same response. Does look fun. If there was a way of looking at deck types without having to use mymtgo, I would be interested.

Hammer of Bogardan is a rare. This format is all commons.
