THe paper version of the zendikar treasures was brilliant marketing. Doing a version of it online would demand a smart strategic plan that would boost zendikar sales significantly and improve player experience for what is already shaping up to be a great set. And that's why it's just not going to happen. Time and time again wizards has proven that mtgonline is a poorly treated and incompetently designed cash cow, and they have no intention (and by intention i mean willingness to invest $) to change that.
write an better article or shut up.
even your jealous outbreak disguised as a critic is worse then his articles.
i simply loathe negative people on the internet and yes, i do realize this is sort of paradoxical.
So you paid this author for nine articles about decks that are completely ininterseying and boring. MtGO doesn't even support them anymore. I will refuse to go to this website and tell others the same if this kind pa useless article is published. Articles about 100CS is good as are the other supported formats. This is a travesty and cotton rhetoric is getting free money for these articles that hardly create any excitement for mtgotraders or MtGO in general.
Fantastic Stuff - Well written and logical article. You make some very interesting points. Now it is time to work on MEGOATH.dek :-) More to follow in the secret forum!
Great article - it looks like you put alot of effort into this. I understand your excited for the new set.
Some cards I disagree on: Eternity Vessel (anywhere this is useful the 6 mana cost makes it useless), Celestial Mantle (suffers the same problem all 6cc auras - over-extending), Electropotence (because I can't think of any deck this actually works well in)... In general you identify some great limited bombs and then state they will be making top tournament tables. Maybe I'm just being over the top critical but by the end of the article I was thinking of this as a obvious limited primer on bomb rares with very little relevence to any other format. If this was a review with limited in mind common/uncommon bombs would be more useful.
Also in a block environment is there any real expectation of being able to play a 9cc spell (including kicked rites of replication). In block there are enough solid beaters and highly powered mid range cards I have a strong suspicion paying 9 for anything will never actually work. Lotus cobra may help you accelerate to 9 but one on the opposite side of the table will kill you long before 9 mana is available for you to make your huge splashy play. Any card with a 9cc is looking for a way to be cheated into play... which will limit the demand and usefulness. I supose that the format might be slow enough... nevermind, lotus cobra, goblins and vampires make me think 9cc is going to be uncastable.
I guess the feedback is to try and look for weaknesses or downsides as well. So that every card you review isn't "omg buy 4 now it will win games". I've been wrong before - it's likely to happen again...
But back on the positive: I liked the layout. I liked your excitement (for the most part). I look forward to seeing more articles.
That's strange, the MUC deck I play seems to be at least even against slivers and burn. I don't actually think you know what you're talking about in that instance.
Before reading this I just assumed MTGO was not going to receive any special treatment with regards to Zendikar, now I am not sure. Interestingly plausible idea. I guess we should know soon enough.
Explanation - This deck has alot of "now you see it, now you don't" tricks. Handcuffs (Shackles) are a staple for any escapologist, redirection (Spirit en-Kor) and Mind Games are part of selling the act. Houdini also used a Chinese Water Torture Cell as part of his act (any of "slippery" and "water" cards apply). Also, looking at the deck list you can't help but think, "There's no way this will win." similar to people's thoughts on Houdini succeeding with his escape act. To top it off, it's rumored Houdini died because he was cursed (Volrath's Curse).

Like how many paper players would have loved to have bought boosters of MED sets?
I consider it a trade off, some special stuff for the paper players, and some for the online players seems fair to me.
