I loved Momir Basic so I think I'll give this a try. Was this next level monir basic or MOJOS an official format at one point? I used to play Momir Basic but not this one. I think I have all those avatars (not sure about Stonehewer Giant) so I'll give this a try.
first of all, nice review of an format you don't see often anymore after the official tournaments where canceled. I just wanted to point out that most people use MOJOS to describe Momir/Jhoira/Stonehewer Giant games. I personally found that all 3 together are a little bit to chaotic and prefer Momir/Jhoira which is the right balance of creature and sorcery/instant play. Even though the format seems very random I found that skill is surprisingly important and can turn games around that seemed lost at first. Everyone should give it a try.
Good luck and may your first sorcery be a Storm Herd!
Nice article only complaint is you could linked the RW alt deck lists to my article from like 3 weeks back that covered every RW list rather than linking it to deckcheck. But other than that very sweet article.
I would just like to comment about the amount of videos. At the end they may seem a little exessive but I felt like its important to get an objective view from the people that make their living with this game since they are truly the best and can give better and more insightful advices.
well done, imagine if you took the cultist on that one pick though? hah excellent draft, you picked well and you never looked back from that first pick. well done.
Classic is a small community and most of the players tend to have "real" decks and know basically how to play. That said, it is imbred and the level of talent isn't extremely high. That is why competent players with decent lists can come in and win.(Events firing with 24 people helps too, but that's part of the idea). I know people like to defend their own, but it's just like the cocky player at the local store that wins every single week and those that look up to him. Let me tell you, if you're a classic regular and you can't win with any kind of regularity, you're doing something wrong.
Trust me this is not the norm of Classic. While anything can happen with proper match ups, mana screw, newer players, and all the horrble things the gods of magic can throw at your opponents that bless you. I would not expect to just toss a list together five seconds before a classic event and walk out smelling like a champ. Classic is fast, games are generally decided in the first few turns, and once you are down it is very hard to come back though it happens.
While this build of zoo may not be a twin of the builds used by most its still not a that different. So he had better odds than if he woulda come packing a white weenie deck. Dont think this as an attack I really applaud your performance, anytime you walk away with packs no one has the right to say much to your performance. Just would hate for some newer players to expect to come in playing some abstract block build and taking the field. That is not good for us as a community scaring those guys away when with a little research they could turn out to be the next Whiffy, Hammer, or BOB with some proper guidance.
I have to agree with you. I remember in the old times when singleton x 60 used to start weekly; I build a UW deck within 30 minutes before the premier, and when I submit the deck, I didn't even got a sideboard!!!!!. I ended winning the premier without SB... it was so funny.
On the other hand, that's approximately 3 1/2 more pauper decks you can buy :P
As for commenting on this article, Jamuraa was amazing enough to set up a special way for me to podcast on PureMTGO. I'll let him know about this commenting issue and I'm sure it'll be resolved in a jiffy.
Awesome job guys, much improved from your first time out. I can't wait to see where this goes in the future. One note is that contrary to popular belief, $70 times 4 is not $210 =)
Also for some reason I can't comment on this article normally? I had to reply to another commment?
You really got my attention when you started talking about the Prices of FOW, and classic cards in general. I am a classic player, so talking about this really grabbed me. I really like your convictions on the matter, and am looking forward to future listens with that same attitude.
Great work guys. This is much improved from the first week when there were a lot of awkward pauses. Those are mostly gone now, and it's easy to focus on the content of your banter, which is great. Sebastian, I would recommend asking Erik for the make and model of his microphone and buying one yourself. It sounds much better, and if you used the same mic, it would sound more like you guys were having a conversation in the same room. Bravo.
Good work man. I only disagreed with a few picks (blood cultist and fatestitcher), but in the end it looks like your made the correct picks :) I really like the play-by-play you do, especially the part with your third round opponent and the final play. Good stuff.
Are you basing your argument of a low availability solely on a snapshot of MTGOTraders stock? That seems like a bad idea to me, especially for the top Classic cards. These types of cards with a high demand value don't usually sit in bots, but that doesn't mean they aren't for sale. The players who own them, if they decide to sell them, are usually less willing to accept under-top-price for them then they are for other cards like standard draft rares. I think you're underestimating your ability to get a card if you're willing to pay a handsome price for it. This shifts your argument back from availability to price. There are few cards that I have never seen for sale in auction. I see lots of the cards you're saying are scarce listed with minimum prices compared to bot prices or even lower go unsold.

I really like your articles.
Great stuff once again
another excellent article. thanks!
You do have a point , I could have linked your article when talking about the RW lark.I'll get more attention next time.=)

5 stars!
Another great article! Nice work!

Again, same insightfulness, same details, with even more videos!
Great article, not too long, but with the right amount of depht!
Congratulations

Rogue decks can and will win top placings based on the fact that they are prepared for the meta, but the meta is not prepared for them.
Hey nice draft report. Quite nice getting 4 stingers and lots of removal. Keep up the good work, enjoyable read.

Just wanted to point out the madness deck you mentioned at the end of the podcast doesnt run green :)
It seems to be fixed now.

70 * 4 = 280! My apologies.
