I think this series of articles could be improved with suggestions about possibly strong decks in the metagame for each event.
As the creator of Thresher, it was originally a mid-range Aggro deck, but FoW's version is more aggressive, and less controlling. While not pure aggro, it is closer to that end of the spectrum than the original list.
More PDC exposure, yeah baby! A good and necesarry overview of the multitude of events running around. If you liked this, visit PDCmagic.com/articles for more indepth looks at the meta's of the different events.
I honestly dont think there is a better Affinity hoser. Once you hit them with that its pretty much gg. Esp if your patient and wait till they sac out.
Sorry to just nitpick , but I have a couple of things:
1. Reflecting Pool still produces all 5 colours even if your only other land is a vivid land with no counters.
2. Maybe I'm dumb, but I don't see how Nakamura could have 2 elves, bitterblossom, garruk and vanquisher in play by turn 2. That has to be a turn 3 sequence. Maybe T1 Elf, T2 Blossom Elf, T3 Garruk Vanquisher?
SypherSun posted a how-to on Skins over at the MTGO III discussion on the www.pdcmagic.com forums, along with links to some of his favorite skins. Sadly I have visted PDCMagic too often, and now my workplace has blocked it, so I can't provide a link.
Great article Hammy! Casual events do sound exciting...
Good article Khirareq, a nice overview of recent PDC events.
just to quickly comment on TPDC 8.08, I would actually consider RG Thresher to be classified as AC-Midrange and to be the favorite in the O-Blink matchup.
"In general, if you play Future Extended, just dock 1 point from the card's rating. If you play Block, you may want to add 1 point to the card's rating."
Some cards get weaker in larger card pools, some get stronger. It's fine if you want to only consider the standard perspective but in that, don't comment so generally (and wrongly) on other formats. As an opening statement, it gives the impression that your analysis is not serious at all and maybe not worth the read.
Yep! Card prices are up to date as of the 19th (things have probably moved around since then though). I'll make sure to get the date in that chart as well!
I see the user stats on the bottom of the page are from this recent week- are the card prices updated as well? I didn't see any dates on the horizontal axis. Also, the percentage change is between which two dates? Sorry- the geek in me really wants to know...
I love my Fridays, it gives me two of my favourite things to check out online, Mr Orange's The Magic Show, and Hammy's State of the Program. As usual a great job summing up the week Hammy, and you know I'll always be there trying to kick that ball too, I know she is going to hold it there for us eventually, it just means not faltering when everyojne laughs at us after the falls.
I like the idea of the white splash for Mirror Entity.
If you have Mirror Entity and Wild Pair out, can you cast a creature and pump it to 3/3 with Wild Pair's ability still on the stack , allowing you to fetch Gilt-Leaf Archdruid? Assuming you have 5 creatures out when you cast the creature fetching the Archdruid, you'd be able to tap all of your changelings for the Lands....
I've also been playing a lot with the Archdruid, but I splash white for Mirror Entity and Shields of Velis Vel (and Oblivion Ring). They make all your creatures into druids, and can be searched up with the Harbinger so you'll never be without one when you need it. The only actual druids I use besides the Archdruid are Llanowar Elves and Elvish Harbinger. I also use Imperious Perfect and Lys Alana Huntmaster to pump out tokens to be turned into druids, and Gaddock Teeg to protect my guys from Wrath of God and its ilk. It performs surprisingly well against other casual decks. I can usually steal lands by turn five or six, and if I'm still alive the next turn it's a guaranteed win. Mirror Entity is insane when you control every land on the board. I was thinking about splashing blue for Merrow Commerce to untap my team at the end of turn (if that works -- I'm mystified by "at the end of turn" and "until end of turn" effects) and I think I might like just a little life gain to see me through to the winning turn.
"But of course," you say, "if you're pumping out elf tokens wouldn't you be better off just playing as an elf swarm deck?"
Well done bro! I expect more articles from you!

can this decklist consistantly beat elves?

"If you can’t play Slaughter Pact or Murderous Redcap, then you need to have some solution to this game-breaking wizard"
Note: if magus of the moon is the problem, murderous redcap is always a viable answer. Like you said, you can always play him for 2RR.
Good read.
1. You're right, Reflecting Pool doesn't care about the counters.
2. It was Turn 3. Turn 1 when Forest Elf, Turn 2 Mutavault, Vanquisher, Elf, Turn 3 Garruk, Untap, Bitterblossom.

I'll make a write up for how to change skins (I have a pretty easy way of flipping between skins right now actually).
Can someone please provide an easy-to-follow link on how to change skins? How about a link to how to create them from a digital photo?

Fabulous article! I love what you've done with the place!
LulThyme, I do not play either Future Extended or Block. I will change the opening note to better reflect this.
Anonymous, I guess I should be using the phrase "almost always" instead.
Wonder who is worst....
You make terrible mistakes but your opponent is even worst...
Nice way to show how not-to-play
Analysis starts off EXTREMELY weakly.

"Strictly worse" actually has a rather specific meaning, which you didn't hit once here :)
Other than that, not much to add.
all of your columns are too large for my screen. 1024x768 for me

I messed around with the Mirror Entity version of this deck a while back, here's the list in case anyone wants to try it:
12x Forest
4x Plains
Lands (4)
4x Brushland
4x Civic Wayfinder
4x Gilt-Leaf Archdruid
4x Imperious Perfect
4x Llanowar Elves
4x Mirror Entity
Snow Creatures (4)
4x Boreal Druid
Planeswalkers (4)
4x Garruk Wildspeaker
4x Sprout Swarm
Sorceries (4)
4x Primal Command
Sorceries - Tribal (4)
4x Elvish Promenad
And I wrote about the process of making the deck a bit here:
http://www.mtgblog.com/?p=57
Probably needs another land or two?

Yes, but that's not as fun. :)
