He isn't a FUS common ;-) .. Sporoloth Ancient likes it when everything you control is a Fungus, especially when Sporesower Thallid and Thelon of Havenwood are arround.
Ernham has been around since Arabian Nights..he was a reprint in Judgement (along with Sengir..) he's an Iconic green fattie for a long long time, not just since judgement, thats why he was there..
My biggest beef with the animated sprites was that it was impossible to determine which player controlled which runes in play at a glance. If you’re watching a game between two players you have to click on the runes in play to see who controls what.
One player's sprites have a black base, the other's have a light gray base. Might be difficult to spot on some monitors, though.
love storm. love the article. however i feel you neglected to mention what i feel is the best dragonstorm hoser. EXTIRPATE. uncounterable and stops them dead. also try combining you storm deck with the oni of wild places avatar for some vanguard fun be sure to add BOP elves and ornothoper to up that storm count.
I agree with you on the "ton of fun to goldfish" my testing versus decks online has been less suscessful. I think it is a very hard deck to play correctly (as opposed to say Dragonstorm) and punishes you for small mistakes. Personally while it's a blast to play I don't think I'd run it in tournements.
Well, it is not longer because it is a special, an addition to my usual 12 Uncommons-series, and you might notice that I also only featured 12 cards with their pictures. ;-)
Why I choose certain cards.. I mentioned cards that I enjoy, and as a major criterium cheap cards. Since.. it's about budget uncommons, and if you read my other articles you might see that for me that most often means cards in the 5 cent range. Most of the spirit & arcane cards are surely fun and usefull, I have several decks that use cards you mentioned, but they need specific decks to run smoothly. My picks are for a broader usage. And regadring the streams.. I often use them. Beeing an instant and a relative cheap shuffle/restocking effect got something to do with that. The lightning as stated above is simply fun and deserves it's place in my eyes because.. it makes red tokens. Secretkeeper.. you mentioned wisdom-based decks, he is one of the overlooked wisdom cards, and he is fun to use, especially along some of the soratami or sweep-cards.
Hey nice article, but i think you could have made it longer: there are so many powerful uncommons in kamigawa (and i am not talking about sensei's top eheheh):
Time of need, thief of hope, the 2 netsuke, footspeps of goryo, hana kami, hinder, lure, mark of sakiko, the entire oni brigade (a deck oni+ ogres-as the marauder you've written about- can be a real pain for your enemy: fast and powerful), o naginata, overwhelming intellect, reciprocate, sire of the storm (in the good deck = infinite cards), soilshaper (the best card for land destruction :) ), sosuke summons, seek the horizon.
I really think that the cards you've picked are powerful, but i can't understand what do you think is good in secretkeeper, feral lightning and stream of consciousness... the second 2 cards are really overcosted.
However i was happy to read about kamigawa, it's the block i prefer, it was balanced (except kokusho and some other cards) and powerfu.
P.s. I don't understand the comment of the anonymous telling it is a shameful block: have you ever played against a spirit deck? or a soratami deck? one of the decks that abused cards drawing and sweep? THOSE are decks that can be incredibly powerful if you are able to play, they usually run original cards and strange comboes to win. But i understand that running silhana ledgwalkers+ moldervine cloak while putting a firemane angel in the grave is much simpler ( and much boring....)...
You should try some of those auras with creatures that can't be targeted and killed so easily (Sihana Ledgewalker for example), then they arn't so terrible!
I thought about a FUT common that grants an ability to every creature, and a TSP uncommon that adds counters to creatures of a certain type, it is even possible to combo them with Doubling Seasson or Paradox Haze... and there is always an elf that would benefit of beeing something else.
Want more hints ? =)
And about the rating, I don't know, poke Heath for details.
Ok I'll bite. Nether Traitor as a Spirit Saproling?
Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to make the next one longer when I submit it. Luckily it'll be a fun one with instant combos like you mention here. I'm really grateful you gave the vanguard avatars enough thought to post a little challenge like that.
Side question: when writers post on the own comment's section they're rating their own article?
I usually pop my expanses at the end of my opponent turn, but seeing as this was a casual game, and I was also chatting I was worried I would forget to pop my expanse. As for the netdecking I usually do tweak most decks I play, but in order to do that I have to get a few games in. Also, I'm pretty sure that for the same reasons you can't mention mtgo names on the boards you can't mention mine in your articles.
Love the article but I have to disagree with your assesment of daybreak coronet. I run zur control on mtgo and since daybreak needs to be put on a creature which is already enchanted, shielding plax will already be there to protect from the 2fer. When Zur drops, and it should never drop without counter mana up, it pretty much means gg. I also rock 2x Heidar in the deck, and a coronet on a heidar is...well...amazing.
well, i've finished it, and yeah, it was too boring for my tastes. however I liked the nightmare deck example...
If one actually reads the entire article (as I did) the information is pretty solid.
Good work there.
No, I wasnt referring to Neither Traitor at all..
He isn't a FUS common ;-) .. Sporoloth Ancient likes it when everything you control is a Fungus, especially when Sporesower Thallid and Thelon of Havenwood are arround.
Yeah, I lost interest after you defined work.
Good article as ussual, however I have read so many Dragonstorm articles, my eyes are bleeding :)
I couldn't finish this article..There was too much work invovled to do so.

.... to get people to actually look at that poll?
I really need some more feedback on what you want to see.
Otherwise I am just guessing what some people might like, and I am pretty sure that is not what the unregistred readers really want to see...
I got a nice Rogue deck too, i love building weird tribal decks like Sphinx. But i dont use graverobber in my rogue deck, might need to add him in.
Those are the more interessting budget uncommons, in my opinion.
Budget. =)
If those are the "best" or most "interesting" uncommons frm Kamiga block I'm ery glad I skipped it.
When they anounced they did a Oriental Based block I thought it would be cool, but imho it simply didnt work out great.
Too much Spiri/Arcane stuff ( which really messes up Momir) and overal bad cards.
Short, but cool.
I actually really enjoyed that.
yup it's totally fine to rank your own article.

A nice little overview, the article seems a little short, but thats nothing to complain about when the content is right.
By the way, there is a way to abuse the Seshiro Vanguard in STD VAN again.
Hint: It's about some green guys.
Hadley, it would be very cool to see your Zur decklist.
