Very informative without being too convoluted. Perhaps in the future, you can talk to the people who ran (run?) the Sunday FFA's, which are a very different matter of PRE?
Overall, great job (and thanks for using PDC screen schots)!
Well, I got my mug up there for you all, but I'm not in the habit of putting my real name up in public. So you'll just have to know me as dangerlinto unless I email you.
Perhaps it should be a user setting to allow showing the person's real name - that way it doesn't look silly seeing it like I have posted.
Nice article, great content... I do have to say. You do need to upload an avvy and possibly post your real name or something since it kind of defeats the purpose to post your screename twice... and it doesn't look nearly as professional...
Thank you for making people like me aware of PRE's. I was completely in the dark about this until now and I have to say I will be participating in quite a few in the near future (whenever I can find that much time however). Thanks again :D.
I really like the deckbuilding challenge, I hope you continue them.
I was happy to see AJ win it, since not many people tried to stay away from the ruins.
The Combo-Wish deck looks interessting.
I am on board with the Cabal Therapy, I think it would be a great sideboard card if not maindeck. the first time is like a look into the fog but if you flash it back it shouldn't be a problem especially if you can just recurse everything..
Ah, but how do you deal with the problem once you know it exists? Cabal Therapy would be infinitely better than Brain Pry for sure, since you can actually get rid of the problem before it becomes one.
Not bad, not bad at all, although I might advise switching the Concentrates for a draw card that gets you discarding, to give you another outlet to get a horror in the grave. A good range of questions asked.
Woah that's really cool actually. I don't get how destiny causes things to come into play tapped though. Anyway, thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated!
I'll take your word on that. My argument for Brain Pry is that at 2 mana you can pretty much ensure that what you're doing won't be disrupted (unless they top deck), which allows you a bit more security when going off.
Actually, the article just seems shorter because the decklists are more condensed. In reality it's quite a bit longer than previous ones. Brain Pry isn't a great fit for the second deck because it doesn't particularly do much if you don't know what your opponent is playing, meaning that at best it's just a cantrip for 2 mana.
The article was a little bit shorter than usual, but decks were pretty cool! Also, I recommend Brain Pry for your second list, it MAKES SURE your oppoonent isn't packing Wrath of Gods :P (or damnations for that effect, even final judgement sucks)
There goes my next article...Anyway, I loved your walk analysis, that's definitely something to consider when building a mormir basic deck. Another thing I would have considered would have been the various (pay x mana to keep this creature alive) cards that fill up the higher level slots (7-16 mana) so that one can judge based on that too..
PS Akroma Angel of Fury's thumbnail wasn't done correctly, remove the space.
Definitely an improvement over last article. Though the odds are extremely low that you'll get any of those 'whoops, I lose' cards, Murphy's Law spares no one :P
Although I'm a huge fan of vanguard, I just don't like Momir Basic. The main reason is (along some others) that I don't like the randomness of the format which is all about. As you also stated in your article, one Phage and you're dead. But hey, it's just me! But Momir in vanguard is another thing. It is the avatar choice of many players in this format and this is the reason I have 4x Azorius Guildmage for game 2 and 3 in my RUW-Jaya Ballard Avatar standard vanguard deck(a card you warned the readers about). Overall a very nice article and good job.
Excellent job Runeliger! Even the guys at Wizards couldn't have done it better. Really helping. And a small addition to all the information you gave; Kismet means Destiny in my native tongue(which is Turkish by the way). So it isn't just a name that sounds cool, it also has a meaning. Good job!
I was hoping someone would make a database like this as I myself was wondering what some of these cards had been shifted from. The Index is a very nice touch. all in all a good article and a good resource. Great job.

YAY PREs

And of course, thanks for the kind words.
Now get out and join some PREs!

Great article - looking forward to more!
Great article on pre's. Make sure to post an avatar! :)

Use the card to get the Stations (Summoning, Blasting, etc.) out quickly.
Of course, the avatar can probably do just as much.

I liked the deck :) I'm a fan of combos any day ever!

Haha! That makes so much more sense, a 9/9 and deckthinning. Sorry about the misunderstanding heh.
Thanks! much better!

Mitchy, I changed the avatar.
