I was actually kind of surprised to find Foxes are still eligible for True Underdog prizes; they're not amazing by any means but they make for a solid white weenie tribe and I figured they would have lost their unpopular status by this point.
I am happy to have been able to win the prize with a tribe that's pretty close to actual dogs though.
Just watched your videos from last week and gotta say, jeez, what a jerk was your last opponent! It makes you want to block him preemptively. Good thing he ended up making a fool of himself with his plays and deck.
I don't know if it's only an issue of mine, but I keep having the audio restarts after about a minute into your videos. It's annoying because at that point your comments come too late over the visual of you actually clicking on the cards you're commenting upon.
Can you check to see if it does that when you play them, too?
Thank you all very much! Great article, stsung!
Just two points, not all players in the event are S100 veterans, in fact we had about 20-40% of new players in the last months. And it is not necessary to start buying cards before starting your first S100 deck. Another charm of the format is that new players can use their own card pool for first steps. A red direct damage deck with or without some critters, or a green elf deck with or without a ramp for some 'biggies' is usually no problem to create.
After you enjoyed your first matches, you still may arm your deck more or create a new, less casual one.
Ha I agree Michelle UW Spirits is not the Spell Queller deck you want Bant is just stronger. I like that the emerge decks showed up though and that BW won it all. That will change how people build their decks.
I really thought about Naya but I really wanted the access to the blue which is why I went with Sultai. I think Negate is super strong. But what do I know :) I like the black white list that won as well.
Your prediction about Bant Company in the PT was spot on.
Poor Blue/White spirits players. You will not be able to convince such players to abandon their beloved deck. Their eyes lit up with the arrival of Spell Queller and Selfless Spirit and they will continue to try to swing in the air for the win!
The answer is no. The face of that card doesn't exist until the card is in play. That's a game mechanic as well. You can't find Elbrus, the Binding Blade with Worldly Tutor. And you can't find Withengar Unbound, because it does not exist until you successfully transformed Elbrus. So you can't put Elbrus in your deck and say it's one of your 20 Demons.
That reminds me that when I was submitting the article there were actually my own videos linked. I wonder if I deleted them by accident? I will link at least one video then (there are few more on that channel). If interested to see how I mess up you are welcome to view the videos.

What happened was I shot this at a resolution close to but not exactly 720p, so because it wasn't exact, YouTube downscaled it to 360p. I did a test just filming it in 1080p and got good results. Future videos will be in 1080p!
That's weird. Where do you watch your youtube videos, at a smartphone or at a PC? I wonder if other people have the same issue.
It amuses me that you've got foxes, hounds, wolves and even a hyena for canines, but 'Cat' covers every variant of feline.

More of the same, every week. Time to quit magic, i guess.
I always love a good top deck!
Top quality breakdown of the subject, well presented, excellent read.

It is hard to find the words for this program. People are very fond of it. - Gary McClure
Yeah, it's always funny when the jerks end up doing that! heh

All right, I solved it by downloading your videos. They play fine on my hard disk, so it's likely an issue of the YouTube player.

How did you react when Owen Turtenwald top-decked that Elder Deep Fiend against Yuta Takahashi's Bant Company deck?
That draw was so.....impressive! Probably my favourite topdeck moment ever.

No love for Naya Company or perhaps Jund Company?

Depends on recording software you are using, as well. I know Camtasia puts in a blur effect at start of video as a fade in (which can be removed).
