I didn't see the new BaCoon Deck with the changes made, am I missing something?
I played last weeks deck in casual play and got similar results. Reiver Demon has been the MVP in at least half the matchups and Nightmare Lash equipped creature is crazy beats. Its a crazy fun deck to play.
Assuming you don't move one of the graft counters from the Root-Kin to the War-Pride, you're right. But if you do one over you get an 'army' of lots of big guys when they all come into play and trigger. An alternative I've been toying with is Primal Forcemage. He's a lot less risky than copying a Root-Kin
I dont think the graft and shape goes well, you will turn the war pride into 0/0 so it goes to waste. you will do a really nice attack but will lose the guy.
Well, people who works for minimum wage don´t even know that MTGO exists, at least in Brazil, well i am counting only adults. I don´t work on MODO like Miguel, but I draft a lot, well as long I do have a 2 hour open. I don´t think that i get more pressure because i am short on money, as far as i imagine everyone has a budget and deal with it as good as they can.
SIDE NOTE: Minimum wage here is going to be R$412 ~~ 129 pounds month, if you count 200 hours of work 0,66 pounds
But the life cost here is lower, with a draft set price you can buy 2 bigmac trio, or 20 cans of beer.
Hi, I enjoy the article. I'm from Peru, the minimum salary in here is about S/.550 ($190). I made from job about $1000 monthly. I quit modo from a while, on December i bought 250 tixs with $200, now I got a UGTron extended, Goblins Tribal, 8 Lorwyn starters and 550 tixs- and have "cash out" about $250.
I think is about the perfect buy-in with our economy the entry fees for PEs (6 tixs = S/.20, if i win, 88 tixs = S/.290)... so I play, if I lose, that doesn't really hurt me, I lose the 20% of a day of job, if I win I made 3 days of job playing.
On the other hand, I can't understand how some people can afford playing Magic Online, if I made $15/hour, and the event takes 6-8 hours... I'd just work :/
Well, in England the miniumum wage is 5 pounds an hour (16 reais). But in Brasil, the wage is relatively much lower. So for me, if I lose in a draft, I'm not losing too much, so there's not too much pressure to do well, whereas there might be greater pressure if my minimum wage was around 2-3 pounds an hour or less.
I am brazilian, so i fit on your question, well is getting cheaper and cheaper to play MTGO Lately, dollar is falling in almost every other country due to the credit crisis, when i started 1U$= 2,8 R$, now is 1U$=1,68R$. So i keep spending almost the same but getting a lot more packs. But i don´t understand about the financial pressure that you are talking, can you try to clear this out for me?
I'm always interested in Latin American Magic Online players. It might be a personal quesiton, but I've wondered how they afford to play Magic Online? So maybe Eddy can answer if the reason most are quite good is that there's an added financial pressure to be so?
As long as Futuresight packs are sold in the store our bigest funder wont let us ban you Tarmogoyf. Don't worry I am sure sooner or later they will stop selling Futuresight and we can take care of you!
The original deck had Kher Keep, but it wasn't in my collecition, so i just substituted a mountain instead. However, it seems like a good choice. I just didn't have the cards to play it.
I wasn't wrong about Tarmogoyf. I made about 350tix on magic online buying them low during release and selling them higher. Too bad my focus was too narrow to go into the paper version as well. I did tell all my friends how amazing it was, but no one else believed me enough to speculate like I did.
One of the things that everyone seems to want to point out is that Tarmogoyf is just a vanilla creature that gets killed by many cards in the format. The problem is that he is the most insane creature in existence. If you look at the top cards played in paper from <a href="http://www.deckcheck.net/format.php?format=TSp_10th_Lrw">Standard</a> (click on the side where is says "top 30").. I see something insane: Tarmogoyf is played in more decks than PLAINS. Granted, white is in a bad place right now and probably will be for a while, but that says something about the current standard.
I don't think that banning Tarmogoyf in July is going to happen - maybe for extended, but definitely not for Standard unless something changes completely. Everyone needs to remember that we only have about half a year left with Tarmogoyf in standard.
I didn't try Wort. I wanted to. But the list was so tight, I didn't know what to get rid of. If you're testing the deck and want to give him a try, I suggest replacing him with the Mudbutton Torchrunners. Try that out and see how it does.
I haven't played enough of the mirror matches to have a strategy. My best guess would be to get your Grave Pact out early and then don't be afraid to trade guys.

with morningtide out u guys should try shared animosity.. the best pre and post wrath card you can get. might sound dumb until you try it.. it speeds up ur game very significantly and every token producer can easily make the team lethal in no time..
Well, since I saw the bird game I can say it truely looked interessting.
Oh, and thanks for mentioning my article. =)

Goyf would be much more appropriate at GG instead of 1G. That would reward Green-heavy decks, which aren't much better off than White.

Funny how you write an article on community, yet at the same time you are hellbent on bring down others.
Hopefully you enjoy you free credits, this article isn't bad, but coming from you its utter crap.
Hopefully you will practice what your preach and respect others in the community that work just as hard if not harder than you.

Nice article, very true. Also read this classic on magic community building: http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/article/13789.html, by Ben Bleiweis

Run 1x Kher Keep. It makes great(er) Gargadon fodder with Grave Pact.
lol...I disagree. Have you seen the footage of Kengi reacting to learning you were made by Mike Turian? That was worth it.
But yeah...you should definitely be banned. For sure. Too much whoring yourself out to, say, blue decks. Or combo decks.
I think I should be banned.... simply put, no way I should've been born.

Epic! Can't wait to see your post-Mornintide build.

I have a black and red goblin deck, its a bit different. i wonder what your plans are for a mirror match?
