I've never seen much point to the news being kept around a month or so. If someone wants to see what happened last week checking the archives seems easy enough.
Yeah the supply of dual lands is clearly way too small. On message boards you usually have 1/5 the number of sellers as buyers.
I've fixed the anchors (again). It seems like every once in a while they'll get pointed at an old article for some reason. :(
The way the information tables work (for changes and discussion items) is that the newest, freshest most up to date information of the week will be in the white section. The darker the background the older the data. I did this to help visualize what was new from last week.
The new table (the V3 status stuff) will get the same type of treatment, where it will basically be a rotating month of information color coded to indicate when it happened. :)
Thanks for the heads up on the links and hopefully that helps explain how the data formatting is being done. :)
One of his customers has been relentlessly stealing my prices and I've started fighting back now. I spoke with the owner of CBS bot and he at least talked to his customer about the situation etc. His customer was using a script to steal all my prices which is why my prices are now images. It's a pain in the rear with price stealers I tell you. I do all the work and they get a free ride.
I love the information in this article and gain a lot from yet. But I have absolutely no idea how the column's structure work. It seems to be a mix of old and new information, mixed together, so I have to just scroll through and look for new tidbits. I try to use the table of contents, but it doesn't seem to always help. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this just a result of the new site?
I agree with most of your picks. Nice to see someone else value Broken Visage, since most people don't seem to think it's very good.
I think you overvalue Necrite a bit, I haven't been able to make it hit once. I would have taken Balduvian Dead over the Devourer, as the Dead can be a HOUSE. Also, I agree with the fear of the 6/3 thallid, but I would have taken Adarkar Sentinel. In a long game, which a lot of MED II games turn out to be, the Sentinel is largely unkillale and takes out the thallid.
Also, try taking some snow-covered when you have the Gangrenous Zombies. 2 damage to all creatures can be a huge game-changer, especially with Sentinels, Phalanx, etc.
I like your deck, it's one that has worked fairly well for me.
I think I'm going to build a mono x Pringleton deck for each color now. I already have a mono black deck, and will be working on a mono white one after that.
Whiffy - We'll all read your origin story for the deck I'm sure. I'm interested to see it.
Hammy - I'll try to have a more clear format for my SBing and for breaking up games.
IA - I guess I should have put more detail into what cards I was playing looking for those threats, but I had Brainstormed and Fetched (for an extra 2 cards for the two I put away), and then also had chances to draw Vamp as an 11th threat finder. Not UNLIKELY I guess, but not the best odds of occuring either.
I'm not sure how unlucky you were r4g2. You had 10 threats in your deck and saw two. You should see one about every six cards or two in twelve. Seeing 2 in 15 cards is not uncommon in a deck like this.
Saying that your TRUE control deck lost because it couldn't find a threat is kinda sketchy.
Good breakdown and it's always intersting to see a new view into the Classic metagame.
My only suggest would be to format and break up the matches/games a bit better. It was kind of hard to see where one transitioned to the next, also the
+x Card +x Card
-x Card -x Card
For sideboarding choices, it would help to indicate when and where that's happening.
Other than the formatting I really like this article! Good luck in the next PE!
Very nice walker. Too bad you lost the games you did. Id be willing to bet that with a touch more practise you would have 5-0ed the swiss with those match ups. Also your article beat mine to print. My next article is all about Trinket stalker, and the origins of the deck. I wish i could say it was a whiffy creation i just built the sb and ran it a few times.
I might disagree just a LITTLE with some of the ratings (Mana Crypt I feel like might be more of an A- given the downsides you described), but over very well down, and any changes I would make would be mostly nit-picking.
I agree with IA in the fact that this guy sucks pretty bad. His counterpart, Necrogen Mists, is better in the fact that fewer cards kill it.
Future extended dredge, has replacements for discard outlets and draw outlets. I have even built a Future Extended list myself and have been testing, but not to my liking so far. The replacements are not nearly as good as their counterparts that cycle out, but a few to be mentioned are:
Oona's Prowler Ideas Unbound Goblin Lore
As for the other decks, the card is just too slow to do anything major. If it costed {B} or MAYBE {1}{B}for a 1/1 or something with this ability, it would be playable.
Glad to see you guys back! First, I actually like the new layout better. This one seems sexier. Two, start picking up draftbetters articles again! I am a religious fanatic of his page and I would love to see more people get turned on to his project. Plus he could use some more product support from you guys. Doing that page is expensive! Anyway, glad to have you back on my regular rotation of Magic content to peruse daily rather than work or do homework.

I'mma have to agree with blandestk. I read your article weekly, and still I don't understand what's going on sometimes haha

That is so cool.
This split cards are what cause the legality issue in Prismatic but not 100% on that.
Nice job Jim! Only suggestion is to link it more prominently so we can see it and get here easier, you know we're all drunken degenerate bastages! LOL
I am a new writer so please leave me any feedback so that i might continue to make this article better.
I think I'm going to build a mono x Pringleton deck for each color now. I already have a mono black deck, and will be working on a mono white one after that.
Thanks for the inspiration, and nice article!
Nice deck ... this might be fun to work up with each color. Maybe I'll try blue first .... I love me some shackles & Amnesia.
I too have been discouraged from even trying prismatic after the switch to V3, because it says all of my prismatic decks are illegal now ... ehhh.
Your creativity is win ... good job

Also Needle on Genesis doesn't help so much :)

Decree of Justice is NOT NOT NOT rotating out of Ext. It is from OLS. Under the new rotation policy, OLS stays in.
Good breakdown.

A very succinct breakdown of the cards from MED in EDH! Well done!
I'm guessing because you added Goyfs, ala Ceph Breakfast, making it a breakfast cereal combo deck, named in the old style?
This article has been posted before, it was up for abotu 30 minutes before the last crash, so I am bringing it to you all again.
JXC
Glad to have you back on the site and to have the site back on-line. Hopefully we get you back on track with some more wins.

WOTC doesn't put cards in a format to make it more budget friendly, or in this case screw people with better decks.
If your plan is non basic hate you have tons of good options, foremost the Moons which are quicker than 'vore.

You might want to let them know that you don't sponsor them, mtgotraders.com is listed under the sponsors on the right side of the page.
